Title: LISK abandonded / changed the DAPPS name
Post by: somacoin on May 19, 2016, 10:47:18 PM
... they'll now be called Blockchain Apps instead:

Launch imminent ---- 24th May!

Changing the Lisk Terminology. Renaming dapps to blockchain apps.

Lisk is all about the blockchain and all about applications. Until today, we agreed and followed commonly used blockchain terms. However, we believe Lisk does not adhere to current industry terms, thus we are creating our own terms. The Lisk main network launch is in close proximity and it’s important to do the changes before it, afterwards it will be much more complicated.

Please take your time and read all our name changes in our blog post! (https://blog.lisk.io/changing-the-lisk-terminology-renaming-dapps-to-blockchain-apps-fb9814078b9c)

blockchain applications
plural:
many blapps
singular:
one blapp
sentence:
Have you seen this blapp? Its awesome. No, I havent the blapp, but it sounds like another blapp i already have.

No, either "have you seen this blockchain app?" or simply "have you seen this app"?

People don't care if an app is build on top of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB. Why should they care its built on top of a blockchain?

We kept the name "blockchain" because it clearly demonstrates that a blockchain app is running in its own blockchain/sidechain. But in every day conversations it's not so important to mention it. Unless specifically asked for it.

Lisk is about making things easy. We don't need to over-complicate everything.

So Brave calling Eth crap when it is at an all time high. Lisk won't even reach 0.01 when it launchs.

Dude, I just looked at the price of LISK on Yobit and it's skyrocketed.  What's up with that?  I don't follow every little thing that goes on with the hundreds of altcoins--is it even the coin that's trading, or that stupid IOU that they devised?  I'm also not tech-savvy, so I don't understand what DAPPS are and all of those things.  I do understand the potential for them to be world-changing, but not the nuts and bolts of it.

Ok thanks for that.  So I assume the gigantic price spike is prerelease hype-ola?  Or did Coinbase start trading it or something?   I was quite surprised to see it at 0.0008 or however close it got to that.  And it's not even the damn coin!

Edit:  0.008, and it's above that now.  Christ.

Take if for what it's worth, there's already 4 scamcoins based off of Lisk (one that raised 150 BTC already) and Lisk has not even released the code yet.
