Title: Need help investigating what happened to my coins
Post by: kallekoll on March 01, 2013, 07:38:00 AM
I bought some bitcoins long ago and forgot about it until i saw now that the prices is high again. I opened my truecrypt volume and started the bitcoin client, to see that my balance was zero, which i think is because i transferred my coins to Tradehill for some reason. I don't remember exactly what i did.

There is what happened to my wallet, does anyone know who owns the address i sent that money to? Was it Tradehill?

Was it Tradehill?

TradeHill provided its users a hosted (shared) EWallet.  That means the user account is assigned an address from the wallet, but the wallet is owned and managed by the EWallet provider.

Bitcoin is a pseudonymous digital which can be used anonymously.   In this instance, those funds were transferred and spent long ago.

You can try to contact TradeHill to see if you have (had) an account with a balance yet.
