Title: Block.io Safe or not?
Post by: btc2double on May 20, 2016, 04:38:30 PM
I want to create an website but i want to use the block.io api are they safe for 50+ BTC deposit or not? I mean if i held 50 BTC in my block.io wallet.

Any chance they will scam me? Did anyone used block.io before?

This might be asked better in a different section, but while it could be safe, experience has shown that online wallets and exchanges are often not safe.

I wouldn't trust any online wallet right now unless it was for a very small amount.  Using an online wallet is just asking for problems.

You never want to store that much in an online wallet anywhere no matter how trusted the source is.

There's always a chance, no matter how trusted or not the site is.

You should always keep the control of your private keys yourself and avoid anything that compromises your coins, especially for a big amount like 50 BTC.

Block.io is a great resource for buying, selling, trading, etc...

Of course it's always best to keep a private wallet on a home computer.

all online wallets have some negative points , they may be safe if you take care but I wouldn't take the risk with +50 BTC
maybe you should only keep like 2 BTC , then re fill it when it's empty

What kind of website you want to create? Because the only type of service I imagine is gambling site.
And if that is the case here why don't you use MoneyPot to help you fund your bankroll.
The only online wallet I would consider 'fine' is blockchain.info and they are still not ideal.
