Title: Ripple Micro-trust thread
Post by: HappyScamp on March 01, 2013, 05:41:07 PM
Network Science suggest that a broad rich network of microtrusts would make the ripple much more fluid.

So this thread is for that...

Put your ripple tag in this thread, and I will trust it.

I will trust by number of posts in the past and to a lesser extent, history.

Less than 10 posts = no trust

up to 100 trust = 0.001 btc

up to 200 trust = 0.002 btc & etc.

I know that doesn't sound like much... but with an extended network it will make a huge difference in system fluidity.

(Edit)  I will do ten or maybe a few more than that of these trusts.... after that my eyes will get dizzy with all the numbers and names, tryin g to keep them straight ... I encourage you all to grab a few of the numbers and trust them for a mere 1 btm ... you are in no danger and it will help the whole system ... just a little bit, but each little bit adds up.  Feel free to start your own threads, get your friends involved, etc.  Thanks for joining into the concept.

Post and trust below!

BTW Do you expect the trust in return?

What do you do if a known scammer with 2000+ postcount shows up? ;)

If I know it is a scammer, then of course I wouldn't trust.  But at trust levels of 3 or 6 cents, it shouldn't be dangerous.  I suppose trust levels could go down into SAT...

Microtrusted.

You can return trust or not at your discretion.  I don't expect anything.  If it comes fine.

After this trust network is established what can we accomplish?

After this trust network is established what can we accomplish?

If I understand it correctly, (And I may not) it should increase the fluidity of ALL currencies, especially BTC.

IF I understand it correctly, it may change the nature of money such that it becomes referred to as "Currency 2.0"

Will this be a good thing?  A bad thing?  Probably both, since it will increase the possibility of doing either.

Yes, thanks.
I have been using this forum product mostly on another entirely different site, where the delete button does not exist, however.  Not expecting it to be there after long years of use, I did not look for it here.  :-)

and as per above I am going to let others take over now, I may trust a few more, but I would like to see the thread gain some momentum.... give a little trust to a number or three, leave your number to get a little trust.

We'll see if it works!

Intriguing.  I wrote up the first analysis of the PGP web of trust (pgpstat) back in 1996, so I'm curious how this all plays out....

I've extended trust to bitstamp and have a small balance with them in USD & BTC. I'm curious if someone can take an IOU from them.

Thanks!
