Ethereum is worth 1+ billion.

Ethereum has the potential to grow to 10+ billion.

With even the potential at 10+ billion - a 100+ billion becomes very possible.. perhaps dare I say a trillion.. (ok THAT does start to sound crazy)

Bitcoin is 7+ billion.
Apple is 500+ billion.

Bitcoin focuses on perhaps a much more longer term market - or it may be dreaming. (only time will tell)

The majority aren't rushing to use Bitcoin.

The majority doesn't have to know about Ethereum to be using and supporting it.

The question is do I sell all my DAO for ETH within the first 2 weeks ?

Hedging is generally a smart thing to do. Can't you keep some of both?

$1,000 invested in Jan this year would be worth around $15,000 right now. Not bad.

A trillion doesn't sound that crazy,  ethereum stands a good chance of succeeding where bitcoin failed.

Just to reiterate. Do the exact opposite of whatever r0ach pretends to advise.

ETH price can go up and go down, but the are not so many ETH users wordwide. So one day ETH price will be stable.  ;) 

The word could with the price after it is an obvious pump to get the price higher and i guess you are succeeding just bought a few Ethereum again now I'm crossing my fingers

There's really no way to be sure that 1k could be 10k+. Yes, 1k could be 10k+ or 100k+ within 1-2 years, but it could also go $100, or even $10. There's no way to be sure, we just have to hope for the best.

And if I had wheels, I'd be a wagon

I'm experiencing deja vu. This is exactly the attitude bitcoiners had in early 2014 when the price was $1000. We know how that ended. I consider OP's post to be a sell signal for Ether.

Exactly! That is how it can be for any other coin.
I don't see Eth keeping this value for very long. As history does eventually repeats itself.
$1000 is a lot to bank on something that is not a sure thing.
I would rather put that on bitcoin before the halving if you had asked me what I would like to bank on as a sure thing  ;)

A few thoughts:

ETH is a not a currency in terms of transferring and storing value (by dev's own admission). It is fuel (literally gas) for smart contracts. While bitcoin positions itself to be money, ETH is, let's say, gasoline or electricity. While I enjoy the benefits of gasoline for propelling my vehicle, and electricity for powering and heating my home, I don't trade those things for other things. They are a generic commodity I buy whenever I need it.

ETH is inflationary. Since people are OK with possibly a 2% per year rate of emission, perhaps a small bump won't be so bad, and another bump, etc. Once inflation is OK, then it's easier and easier to convince people to debase their money for "good sounding" reasons x, y, and z. It will never end.

Creator is not anonymous. If it ever becomes necessary, the powers that be squeezing VB's left nut just ever so tightly is enough to ensure his cooperation. It doesn't matter what it is they want him to do - he will sing whatever he is told in falsetto on every comm channel he is told to do so.

DAO got ~11.4 million ETH and counting. That's the org that's supposed to invest what they have for profit. The problem is - all they have is 11.4 million ETH. I don't want f-n ETH, and maybe neither does Joe Shmoe, and neither does global conglomerate X. So to have some worthwhile equity to invest I see the DAO selling their "tokens with questionable future" (AKA the ETHs) for paper with at least some short term perceived value (aka the $ dollar). Or maybe selling it for bitcoin. In any case, a wave of 11.4 million ETH is about to hit the market on or after 5/28.



TLDR: $1000 invested in ETH today will probably be $5-10 within 1-2 years.

Yuppers.. this has been said infinitely yet some fail to grasp this or refuse to admit it.
Admitting the truth will make their bags heavier i suppose so they must lie their ass off.
