The Bitcoin Foundation Wants A Comeback, But Can it Be Saved?

Once one of the most well-known public advocates for bitcoin, the Bitcoin Foundation has faced a long series of obstacles in its bid to remain relevant to the technology's community.

Thus far this year, the industry's oldest trade organization has moved to strike a conciliatory tone with bitcoin's volunteer development team, capitalize on a potentially life-saving infusion of cash and move forward on a plan of action with new board members.

Why save something that does nothing but suck up to governments and corporations?

Bitcoin doesn't need a lobbyist, it just needs to continue growing as it has all over the world.

Exactly!

The Bitcoin Foundation does nothing productive. It only consumes resources. In fact it is outright dangerous, because it could establish an easy access route for the governmental control freaks to exert political influence on Bitcoin development.

We don't need a continuation of Gavin's power grab attempt. All we need for Bitcoin is strong technology with advanced privacy features. The very intent of lobbying for Bitcoin is a perversion of the very reason of why Bitcoin was invented in the first place. Disband TBF now!

ya.ya.yo!

i dont agree on that but i agree that we dont need the BTC Foundation. Lobbying is a very important part and thanks to Coincenter and others we have good people on board. We will reach alot more, alot sooner with these people.

A central organization can be corrupted... infiltrated ...manipulated ....bribed... held for ransom etc.. etc. How do we get it through their thick skulls? We do not need a central figure head for Bitcoin.

They had a go at it, and it failed... secretaries got huge salaries and money got drained on worthless marketing campaigns. Let's just have the technology and it's community speak for it self. It was fun

while it lasted, but it's over now.. let it die.  ;)

The bitcoin foundation can not give assurance that every member of bitcoin is the reliable foundation or organization reliable, in fact in 2015 we see BItcoin cloud mining service Is silver member of bitcoin fundation, but now he is scam.
If bitcoin foundation comeback, he must ceck each member,  not only accept people who are willing to pay.

anyway I agree with Kprawn  a central organitazion can be corrupted ::)
