The bitcoin asks for a beer and the remaining .92 BTC enjoys his beer. The litecoin asks for a beer, the bartender refuses to serve the litecoin because he's not rich enough. The ripple asks to exchange an one beer IOU for a beer. The bartenter looks at the IOU. Felling sorry for the ripple he accepts the IOU and serves the ripple a beer.
