Title: Steem/Steemit.com accounts blockchain-powered social media
Post by: smooth on May 26, 2016, 02:04:32 AM
Steem (https://steem.io) is a blockchain-powered social media platform. Steemit.com (https://steemit.com) is a social media web site in some ways similar to Reddit or Medium and powered by Steem.  Access to the Steem blockchain requires a minimum account balance but Steemit.com offers free signup only by linking a Facebook or Reddit profile.

For Bitcoin community members who do not want to link a Facebook or Reddit profile, I'm offering free or reduced cost funded Steem accounts to established members of the Bitcointalk community, and at-cost accounts for lower-level members. The accounts include an quantity of locked Steem coins (details below), allowing full access to the site, but this is not an offer for the coins as you won't be able to access them easily anyway. The primary purpose of this offering is to allow access to the Steem/Steemit social media platform.

Offer details

. If I know you and have interacted with you: free
. Hero/Legendary: free
. Sr.: 0.0025 BTC free
. Full: 0.005 BTC 0.0015 BTC
. Any: 0.0025 BTC (reduced!)

Payment in advance (equivalent in any top 10 crypto is ok). Prices are subject to change based on market conditions.

You will receive a new account with the required minimum powered up Steem (amount of powered-up Steem subject to change according to network rules and market conditions). Powered up Steem gives you access to the network (bandwidth), voting power, and earns interest. It can't be powered down (converted to liquid Steem that can be traded on an exchange) until you reach 10x the minimum account balance. Powering down, when possible, is 1/104 of the balance per week.

PM me to get your account.

Can you explain Steemit and Steem?
There aren't any FAQs about it nor links to any info within the site

Anyway, since you are Sr. or above, just PM me with the account name you want.

Same to anyone else, but if you are below Sr., you will need to arrange payment with me.

Not related to Steam. It's not gaming related.

It is more like Reddit, but with a blockchain and rewards for posting and voting.

Still available. Due to the increase in BTC value, the cost for low-level members is now reduced to 0.006 BTC. The promotional offer of free accounts for Sr+ members continues.

smooth may I ask what is the incentive for you to promote steem? Are you now affiliated with the Larimers?

It is bizarre given when we first spoke about the state-of-altcoins some many moons ago in 2015, and I had stated that maybe Bitshares and Dan Larimer were credible and you tried to convince me that their mcap was all manipulation and to discourage me from taking them seriously.

Now suddenly you jump on their boat and I've noted you stated some where you were able to mine 1+% of the coins during the stealth mining phase.

I respected you and followed your lead to admonish ICOs, premines, instanmines, and I would assume that would include stealthmining launches. But in the end, all this did was mess up my own degrees-of-freedom to make my project come to fruition because I was trying to bend over backwards to find a way to fit into that impossible set of requirements. And now after all that, it ends up you don't even follow your own ethics.

Hey I am happy with letting the altcoin market be free of Sheriffs. So more power to your newly discovered ethics. I just feel slightly jaded for receiving bad advice from you. I am sorry to bring this out in public, and I must presume you have a good explanation. So I'll await to read your take on this. Thanks.

I'm not promoting it. I'm providing a service for people who want to try it by mostly giving away accounts (or charging a small anti-spam fee for sybil accounts). Whatever you think of the merits of the token and the whole incentive scheme, there do seem to be a large number of people who like using the web site.

I've never told anyone I though it was a good investment or even a good idea. I also never supported their stealth mining launch idea, in fact I think it is a flawed and ineffective business model for a variety of reasons not even necessarily having anything to do with the crypto token itself. I exploited it to my own advantage (their goal if you read his blog post was to minimize and discourage outside participation -- which is exactly the opposite of what I and a few others managed to do).

That said, there are a few good ideas contained within it (I think you would probably agree). You can't dismiss 100% of something just because it got some parts wrong.

There is no way to recover a password. You have to remember it, guess it, or create a new account.

I'm interested, please send me a PM with additional information.

I don't think he can help you anymore. the steemit.com closed the registration of the social network site officialy. so OP can't create anymore accounts there.
but he may give you a already and old created account. but now steemit accounts have so much value as the demand of steem increased so much in very short time.

Anyway. If OP can still provide accounts I am also interested to get one. thank you.

Hi,

My guild members were trying to create Steemit accounts and it was close.  Does this mean it is closed to the FREE account creation only, or it is closed temporarily and will open again in the future? -east

Closed temporarily via free web signup. The offer here is still open (including free for ranked bitcointalk accounts).
