Back when I first got involved with Bitcoin I remember doing the bunnyrun game for a few days, then pretty much giving up apart from the odd visit to coinad and dailybitcoins.

The best site I've found for earning Bitcoins is http://www.bitcoinget.com/. I managed to make about 6 mBTC (6000 uBTC) in an hour by watching videos and doing various tasks (mostly surveys).

But let's do the math here for a moment: 0.006 BTC * $47/BTC = $0.282. I earned 28 cents in one hour. Yay. I can think of a lot of ways to earn money much more quickly than that (say, mow someone's lawn for $10, or 213 mBTC).

Don't let that discourage you entirely, though. If Bitcoins increase in value by 100 times in the next few years ($4700/BTC) I will have earned $28.20 for one hour of work. I see no reason they won't increase that much in about 3 years. (Then again, you could instead convert that $10 you earned by mowing a lawn into Bitcoins now and convert it back to $1000 in 3 years.)

It's still a good way, IMO, to learn how Bitcoin works--how to make transactions, how to manage your wallet, etc.

Payouts for the tasks can vary quite a bit. There are certainly tasks that are better "deals" than others. The key is identifying those tasks and repeating them. There are some making over 0.05 BTC an hour. Still not enough to replace an actual job, but good if you're new to bitcoin or have nothing else better to do.

Indeed they do vary a lot. I found one relatively short and easy task that pays out 320 uBTC. I managed to do that task about 18-20 times in an hour, for a total of 5760-6400 uBTC.

How to make money in Bitcoins without compromising your PC to referral/ad based sites which I suspect are largely data farming operations:

. Learn a skill set in the real world

. Sell whatever services or products you provide with the skills you have learned for Bitcoin

. Profit

Some of the tasks are targeted to your geographic location, and they can be very lucrative. I have seen people complete tasks for 6000-8000 uBTC each. Also, if you have a good history of accuracy, some high value tasks can become "unlocked".

Are any of these free bitcoin methods worth the time?

If you expect them to replace an actual job, then no. But if you just want a way to easily get a small amount of bitcoins in your wallet to play around with and figure out how Bitcoin works, I think these free sites serve a fine purpose. We try to make this process as easy as possible at BitcoinGet.com.

I don't think you can make that much per hour. It wouldn't make sense if you could.
