Well go to this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0 and see the MANY threads already created on the same topic. Whatever is predicted here, is pure speculation... because nobody

knows what will happen. The price might go up building up to the event and suddenly crash when people start to dump. There are also external factors to take into consideration... like the whole Eth

thing going around at the moment... We just do not know..  ::)

perhaps because so many reports that halving will take place in mid-month at CE 2016 but I still doubt with all this news, well there are some news that the source is not in the know, but we as bitcoin users can only expect the best, and I also hope that halving really happened. I also have prepared some bitcoin in the wallet that I use

Well since I haven't experience halving event before ans based on what happened on the last halving, I would say that bitcoin's price will/might increase. Simply by the decrease of mining rate so is the price increase based on economics system.

All the experts predict that will increase it's price slowly but steady there was even a prediction that it could go up as high as $10000 which I hope it will happen but we still have to see that, time have changed since the last one so it's very interesting to see this one..

This is a speculation thread basically, but after the halving I think we might see something like $600, but that might be a bit too optimistic if the miners have been making a lot of money from the current price already.

I think that it will have an optimistic outlook, and it'll be a good year for Bitcoin, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I think it ll go over $600 and after some time, it ll settle at this number. I dont think the hype can push the price much above this level. Still, this would be enough to keep farms profitable.

In my view that after halving occurs most likely there will be a dump, and the price will not rise very high direct

From what I see, there will definitely be a price hike, then major dump, then a price drop, then slowly once again stabilize probably at around $500 more or less. I don't see just yet the price moving really high like others speculate, like maybe $800 or something. I don't think the value will hit that much.

Slowly over ~three years in my estimation. Fourth year should peak above $10k, retrace back under, then bubble into madness by the end of the year. At that point early adopters should own the world along with folks posting now and we start having some serious discussions about what to replace our existing governments with since they are doing such a poor job presently.

Of course this comes with the big "IMHO". I can't predict the future. :)

It will most likely go up. It has already started, we are 10 dollars up, this is the traction of the halving at work, it will continue going up slowly, then it will explode sometime in june or july, and it will correct again, but it will not correct as much as people expect, this is why its better to buy and hold long term, short shitcoins only, never short Bitcoin.

During the halving, the price is around $550. After the halving, the price will rise slowly too about $1200.

My personal bet is that it will reach something around 800$. This is just a random number I've thrown away, don't search any logic behind it :D !

Yeah most of the guesses are just random numbers, mine too :). And yes I suppose a 600 usd value is both realistic and good when it comes down to my profit.

Every bit of speculation and hype is due to the block halving, so it has a very high chance that the price will go down quite deep directly after the block halving as there is not much left to hold on to once the block halving is over.

This is wrong.  The price didn't go up until after halving last time and that's when the economic forces begin to take effect.  Only idiots believe the peak is on the day of the halving.  People are just stocking up right now because the coins will be more expensive soon.

I think we can expect the price of $700 in the mid of year and may be we can reach to $1k at the end of the year if we see higher price at halving.

With last time I assume you are talking about the previous block halving? You can't compare how it was back then with how it will be now. The block halving effect on the price has started in 2015. Not just now.

the price is going to go up obviously. the rise has already started although i think this is nothing comparable to the rise after the halving but it already shows the demand that exists in bitcoin market and this increasing demand plus the lower supply after the halving will lead to a much bigger rise.

The speculation effect has started in 2015, the actual halving effect will start to kick in Q3 2016 and will likely only become really noticeable from Q4 2016 onwards.
