How Often Do You Check Your Bitcoin Wallet Balance?

I've got Sentinel installed on my android phone. I loaded all my xpubs (eletrum,ledger HW.1, old adresses, vanity adresses,...) and i open this application at least a dozen times each day.

I don't check my wallet often,
Normally I login to my wallet when there is a transaction, I mean when I receive any payment....
E-mail notification is a good thing, which helps me not to login much often to check payment came or not...

I also do this, I think that check it often is not necessary to be honest because the amount stays the same right.
I only are in my wallet when I spend something or I add bitcoins to it.

i check my wallet only when i send or receive any transaction. i dont mind to check it very often. i know my bitcoins are safe in my wallet.

i only check my bitcoin wallet balance if i am waiting for a payment that has not yet arrived and i want to check to see it is arrived and i am unaware of it.

i check my cold wallets maybe one or two times per month. i have a round number of coins in my wallet so it is easy for me to know the total value.

Not really often but I think around 3times a day because sometime I was worried of my balance especially when there is someone sharing on this forum about hacked/stolen btc.

I can not count how often I look for the wallet. Because I trade, I had to check the market price and that I also opened the wallet. thank you

I try to not check it too much because I become addicted to it, it's like constantly checking your WhatsApp on the smartphone, it's just a stupid act that is a very repetitive pattern that takes away time to be productive. So I know how much BTC I own in my mind, I don't need to constantly double check if it's still there, when the point of Bitcoin is, it's the safest way to store wealth ever. I still check bitcoinwisdom way too much tho.

i do save 30% from all of my bitcoin at blockchain wallet and save the rest at local exchange and altcoins exchange and i do not so often check my bitcoin balance at those sites and may be only once time per day

It's rare for me to check it, maybe 1-2 times a week, I have the Blockchain.info text messaging service to alert me of incoming payments.

I only check my wallet only whenever I receive payment to my address, just to confirm that I'd receive it or not and I'll frequently check until I got a confirmation.

I voted other, because I don't really care what's in it because I know it's safely hidden in my encrypted paper wallet. I do check the price often, but the balance I don't. I'm concerned on the daily price movements. Idk why but it has been my routine to check it once or twice daily.

Usually once a day, but I don not kind if I miss to check it few days. I mostly check it more often if I know a transaction is coming in.

Well like others, Im just checking my account whenever Im doing transactions.

In case on web wallets, I have email alerts of all funds transfers.

Me i always check it hourly because sometimes my friends that loaned at me they pay so im always checking so that i know if my friend pay me or not. And sometimes i check it because my investment in many hyip are hourly paying so i need to check my balance if they are paying.

Only to check when I'm receiving and spending. Is there any other reason to do it? I guess some people like to gloat over their riches. I don't got any.

I do it once a day, and I also have honey traps { Bitcoin addresses with small amounts, I stored on my computer... to trip hackers and to alert me, if someone has accessed my pc. } You never know,

use a separate computer ... with no strangers on it.

and a hot wallet in the phone.  ;D (like physical wallet in your pocket)

i don't usually check my bitcoin wallet balance, because there is no point to just checking it over and over unless there is a change in balance that i want to see if it is confirmed or not.

Yeah i do that. I check my bitcoin wallet often. More over when the day is payment day of signatures campaign, i usually check it until few time.. because i am very happy when i see my balance is additional.

i'm not often check my wallet if i don't want to use it for what i open my wallet because i know how much my balance at there.

More than once a day and much more frequently when I am expecting to receive some payment. I always check them to make sure that I still have my coins and others have not yet hacked my account. I also change my password every now and then just to be sure.

I'm checking my wallet ballance at least 2 times a day and also when I waiting for a payment. I'm using Coinbase wallet, so everythime when I getting transaction I also receiving email message about that, so I don't need to check my wallet often.

Mostly when I am about to send or receive a transaction which is around 5 or 6 times per week.

I am so much busy in work so don't check often, but Normally login to wallet when there is any transaction or when I receive any payment...notification informs me to check when payment comes.

I don't check my cold storage very often, I check my hot wallets whenever I'm sending or receiving, and I keep a very close eye on my exchange balance, poker balance, and altcoin staking inputs....So, if I took on overall average, I'd have to say that I spend a great deal of time managing my wallets!   

I use paper wallets created on a clean PC so I don't check those balances very often as I don't need to.
 

It depends. When it comes to my normal wallets that I use quite frequently, I check them plenty of times every week. When it comes to my cold wallets, I have not checked back my cold wallets balance since 2015. :D

I tend to only open up wallets when i need to actually use them, since there's no need of loading anything up to see the balance. Especially with
funds that i keep on core client due to its slow sync. Having a quick look at wallet address on blockchain.info is much easier,when im expecting something to show up.

yeah I'm also not too often open my wallet. because I've activated notifications wallet to my email.

i'm not often to check my wallet , beside i receive and make transaction to make sure

i already had a notification on my phone so i can monitor all the transaction activity by phone

I look at my bitcoin wallet just once a day, well, any time only to know if what happen with my bitcoin wallet anytime for, and does have any error on my wallet. Because some purses website has any error or problem with their service on wallets, I need to take care of it.

I only check my bitcoin wallet whenever there's an email notification from my wallet provider, that notifies me that i've receive *Amount of bitcoin here* BTC " . So to answer the question, how often am i checking my wallet? I do it every week since i am receiving weekly payment from a website/service and campaign.

I login if I if now I have coming payout from that day but I always login daily to see if I can still login and if all my funds are still there this is a security feature that i am doing on all payment processor that I have balance on it..

Not same always sometimes every 10 mins but sometimes once a day depends on my schedule but sometimes once a week or once a month because quite busy and sometimes just lazy or going out with friends i just invest on cloud mining sites so i have profit even if i don't check every min. or day

Twice a week,, i only check my wallet when some payments arrives in it and when im gonna buy or paying someone else,, checking your wallet twice a week reduces the possibility that your account might be hack by someone..

i rarely check my balances anymore, because i have my bitcoin addresses imported in blockchain.info as a watch only bitcoin address so that when i send/receive any bitcoin i also receive an SMS notification telling me about it.

You must be some kind of a paranoid to check your balance every hour minutes, let alone 10 minutes. I usually check my wallet around 5 minutes after I do a transaction. I give that much time for the funds to transfer to my wallet and I just give in a little more time if the funds aren't still confirmed. I don't panic like that one user who, just after 11 minutes of after transaction, panicked because he didn't receive his funds.

When I am online, I use my wallet to check the bitcoin-USD exchange rate.
It is easy and gives me an idea of the total worth of my bitcoin stash.  :)

Im just checking my wallet once a day since i really not doing much investment with my wallet rather than making some bets with sports house and check if directbet send my winnings.

I think I keep on checking bitcoin rate every now and then, as I know how much btc I have so not wasting time in checking wallet balance but price of bitcoin really matters.

I think people will check their wallets often if they are traders to check wheater bitcoins are received already or not yet.

I check on regular basis to ensure that my bitcoins are intact and no one has stolen or scammed my bitcoins from my wallet  ;D and that is rare to happen.

I don't get too consumed into checking the price of BitCoin. It goes up, and it goes down, I can't control that, and I'm not selling...

i wont check my bitcoin wallet often, i do it only when i need to send any payment or receive any payment and i just check my wallet whether it has reached my overall target to exchange it to fiat currency:P not often though:) i know my bitcoin will be safe in my wallet but still i just check whether there is any error in balance sometimes:)

I relly don't do that very often because I usually know approximatelly how much there should be on it.

Almost everyday,and i change my password twice a week.to prevent hackers from hacking my bitcoin wallet.
I do this also on my emails addresses.

If i have much bitcoin maybe i will check every day but i am just a freelancer it is not too important for me.

Evertime i received the payment from my service i always check my bitcoin wallet balance. Beside that, i rare check it because for what you check your wallet if you not received or sent something.

i just dont know how many times  i check my bitcoin wallet balance everyday,
all i know is i check it from time to time if the price of Bitcoins is high or low.
if high i do trade at once then if low i do buy bitcoins,. :)

I'm not sure of the count, but frequently I check if there is any incoming transactions for the day. Even nothing is there I'll check at least once in a day.

I do not check my bitcoin wallet often, i check only when i have to make a transaction or just for curiosity if in case i have forgot how much is my bitcoin balance, but recently i check weekly to see how much do they worth because of the increased price.

25% same with me,pick once one ay to check bitcoin wallet,its important for me,i never want miss anything from my wallet,check daily my wallet will give me better feeling,its make sure that my bitcoin still safe in my wallet. and i think i will mad or annoying when i dont open my wallet a week or a month ;D

i'm rarely checking my balance through opening a wallet,what i doing to know how much my balance is directly checking my address through blockchain explorer because to access my balance need so many verification and it's complicated,and i find this so efficient

I am a paranoid so i am cheking my bitcoin wallet balance everyday and not even one time but nothing changes and i am feeling like a dumb ;D

If you use Bitcoin Core, one of the positive aspects of using it is that since it takes some time to load, you aren't as addicted as opening your wallet all the time :p

I never check my Bitcoin balance unless I am transferring funds from one account to another. I just check my emails and normally I get a confirmation that I got paid.

I only check my balance when i received my payout to my investment sites and paying my deposits

I always let my bitcoin wallet open lol so that every time I'm in pc front, i just refresh it. ;) I'm always online since i'm staking some of my coin. I am also active on altcoin trading and monitoring it from time to time is also important.

I mostly look at it everyday but this is right now also because of the nice price it has, you have too keep your bitcoins very in sight right now.

I am checking my balance almost everyday. It is to check if my transactions have been successful. And also to check if my wallet is not hacked.

Not very often. It's so much work to tap that mycelium app on my phone to take a look at my ledger balance  :D

I have a blockchain.info account devoted to alerting me through SMS when I receive a payment to a specified address, so i'm pretty well prepared for a transaction.

Normally once a day but when i receive money i log in again to check that everything is ok and the transaction has completed.

I mostly look at the bitcoin when I'm home from work so that makes it everyday but I also like to check it sometimes its feeling awesome.

Almost on a daily basis, about 10 or more times. I look more on the price of bitcoin rather than my wallet balance because I don't do a lot of transactions, so I find no reason to really check what I have from time to time. What's fun to look at is how the dollar value increases because of the recent price surge.

I check twice a day to ensure that my coins are safe as I know there is no issue with the security of my coins but checking balance brings smile on my face.

Every time I open the home screen of my device :) I gloss over it half the time, if I'm in a rush, but the coinbase widget is chilling there, reminding me how broke I am on a regular interval  ;D

I am receiving coins every hour from the companies i've invest with so yeah i'm checking my wallet every now and then and wonder whether those transactions that clog are going to push thru any minute. and so checking is somehow necessary. :)

That entire depends on my payment schedule. As and when I expect to receive a payment from any source like cloud mining, trading account or siganture campaign, I check my account whether the amount has been credited to my account or not.

this way I keep track of my money and make sure that all the expected payments are received within due time. Also sometime when I notice a huge change in price, I check to see my net worth.

I dont usually check my balance although i have an app of my wallet in my phone. not so often im just checking it everytime i am expecting to receive payment from my other investments.

I always check my bitcoin balance everyday because i'm so excited to check if it's value increase or decreases, I think that came from the HYPE of incoming bitcoin halving so i always very excited to check once a day :D.

When receiving coin from someone I don't enter my wallet just checking in block explorer whether it is confirmed or not. Also I can check my balance there often. My wallet has 2FA authentication I believe my coins are safe.

I didn't check my balance too often because i'm so busy on doing signature campaigns and also doing some trading. I check my wallet balance when i send like 0.01 above because im curious on how much it will increase to my balance (in USD).

Yeah that is the same as me. I just post and trade for most of the day and I am not bothered to check my balance. But I always leave a coinbase tab open so I can see the price rising.

Which wallet do you use? Don't you have to open your wallet everytime you do a transaction?

I oftenly check my wallet every hour but i am not actually just checking the balance but the current bitcoin price , i just want to know if there would be a remainder so i could use it to load up my prepaid account on my phone and also i am checking if there would be an incoming or successful transaction .

Lately, about once an hour on Mycelium, but that's mostly to check the price.  I'm an obsessive checker, and I do the same thing with rhe stocks I own.  The only difference is that the bitcoin market is 24 hours/day.

What if your phone had been stolen? Do you have some precautionary measures prepared?
I'm curious because I also have wallet apps installed to my phone and even Google Authenticator too which is very crucial.

Well, it depends on the circumstances. Sometimes I have a really urgent need for bitcoin from a withdrawal, then I would check my bitcoin balance every 30 seconds or so. Or I could be checking on the status of the transaction, whether it is confirmed.

But otherwise I'd say around once an hour.

I often check my bitcoin whenever there is a transaction made. When I need to withdraw from my wallet to exchange or deposit from exchange to my wallet.  If there is, maybe every 10 to check the confirmation is done. 

I vote others because I'm also not that person who keeps an eye to my wallet balance. I'm logging in to my wallet mostly when I need to send bitcoins, other than that not too often. Whenever I received funds, I received an email confirmation, so no need for me to check it. :D

Yeah most people do that if you have an online wallet. Does blockchain send you emails when you receive funds? I use coinbase and they send you an email every time you get paid.

i check bitcoin price more than i check my bitcoin wallet balance. especially these days that bitcoin price is so volatile and is rising every day.
on the other hand i don't have any reason for checking my bitcoin wallet balance unless i am receiving something.

I don't really check. I have an idea of how much I have based on my latest transaction. If it doesn't match the next time I check, something fishy is going on.

I don't have an idea if blockchain is also sending an email whenever there is a transaction. I am using coins.ph wallet. Most of us here in the Philippines are using that. It sends an email every time my account was logged in on a device and also when my account received and/or sent funds. Helpful email notifications indeed, I will always be updated when someone is trying to access my account.

I probably check my bitcoin wallet balance every 30 minutes or so, sometimes even shorter because I'd be waiting for a withdrawal somewhere, or waiting for someone to pay me back.

If I'm sleeping, obviously I can't check my balance :P

Me too i used to check my wallet balance every hour just to see the latest price of bitcoin and also for an incoming transactions and successful transactions . And if ever the price goes higher i would be able convert it into my local currency so it is ready to use and if i hava enough balance i can cash it out already .

I don't have a regular program when to check my btc wallet balances. lol. I only have a look on them when I make my contability or I know I need to receive a transaction from another person.  ;)

I check my bitcoin wallet balance like 3 time a week because the reason why i'm checking it because i want to see if i get profit by just storing my coins or not.

Honestly sometimes i just check it but most of them 3 times a week.. but if  i don't have time to check it i just use some api to connect in one application or my balances in different wallet i can see in one application.

There are sometimes that i check my wallet everyday, some times that i don't do it at all because of university. and sometimes  multiple times in a day because of mini transactions maybe. it all depends.

I always check my bitcoin wallet every day even if i dont expect that has coming in my bitcoin wallet But now im always checking it 3 times a day because there are coming bitcoin in my wallet that i dont know who send it. So im always checking it if theres incoming bitcoin again.

I check my balance whenever I receive a payment for my work that I do for my company.
They are now allowing 10% of my salary in bitcoins as I requested them.

I check it only once a week now because i dont have expecting coming bitcoin in my wallet theres no income in this week so once a week only. If i have incoming in my bitcoin wallet i always check so that my payment im surely received it.

Do you mean checking your Bitcoins as in you're paranoid they got stolen? Personally I never worry about getting hacked but I do like to log into my Coinbase account from time to time just to look at my balance, don't know why but it's kinda satisfying  ;D I do this randomly, sometimes once or twice a month but not necessarily every month.

I check my online bitcoin wallet(s) whenever I want to send from it or when I am receiving just to confirm for myself that whatever transaction is going through and there is no problem.

I have 2FA on my wallets, but I still check them every now and then on occasion just for piece of mind. I know if my coins get stolen, they are pretty much gone forever, but at least I'd like to know about it.  :'(

the payment for signature campaign and personal text campaign is made once per week, so i check my bitcoin wallet once per week. the payment for avatar campaign is made once per two weeks, so i check once per two weeks.

Whenever I know that I'll be receiving a payment for service that I rendered, whenever I am expecting a payment from signature campaign and whenever i have  chance to see my balance because with the modern technology today youll never know if youd wallet has been hacked or still in tact unless you checked it. Honestly i can not say if how often i check my wallet balance.. sometimes i just open it if i am dealing with other people and sometimes i open it when i want to gamble and have some fun in gabmling casinos.

I check only whenever I want to see what I have, what I need to exchange, when I am exchanging, or when I want to feel relatively good about myself.

If I checked any more than what I currently do I would probably feel worse about myself, or feel exceptionally greedy and not have much fun with Bitcoin, and rather view it as a form of farming easy money.

If I have good amount of coins then I check after every one hours to ensure that my bitcoins are safe and intact as there are many scammers around and checking balance gives great level of satisfaction.

some people (10 voters) have same choice with me,check wallet for every one hour,this is might sound weird or too carefull,but its normal for they who have big amount of bitcoins,or they really want their bitcoin keep safe andalways monitored.

well you wouldnt have to do anything about it, if your coins werent safe and if a hacker managed to get to your wallet then all your bitcoins would be just stolen in my opinion irreversibly

i check my bitcoin wallet a few times a day if i have some money because i like to see the value of it fluctuating all the time and me making some more dollars out of my savings

I voted for "3 Times A Week" because that is the closest to the reality. I don't like to check it too often beause it feels like thinking "My money! My precious!" You know )

If i could cut back down to 3 times a day id be doing alright. as it stands because of the fluctuating price at the moment im checking my phone all the time just to see what the current price of bitcoin is, Its gotten so bad now that if i even think about it i have to have a look and check to see if price has moved up or down. Its a serious problem, The addiction is real.
