I said it briefly at $532/BTC today. It just dropped down to $520. if you had a large investment (~50 Bitcoins), so that makes a big difference in a few thousand dollars...

Should i keep it for a little longer and hope it jumps again?
Or sell now as it seems to have already peaked?

Ignore the short term gain... keep it for another year and you will be glad that you did that!

In the way to think I agree, but not on the lengh. Wait till mid-July, where price should be at its peak for the year, or maybe not, but at least still higher than now.

thats true, i wouldnt just hold all my bitcoins i have at the moment, i would buy even more of it in order to benefit more in the near future, hopefully this will allow me to make some good profit

i will sell only if we will reach a new all time high in the bitcoin price, in this way i would make pretty decent profit in my opinion and i wouldnt need to pay too much time for it

We should hold till the halving, that would be the right time to sell, no doubt price is good now but if you have patience then you can earn lot higher profits in future.

Selling anytime before the halving block reward and before reaching 1k $ will be considered as a bad move If you ask me . It's better to wait little bit more to make a better profit . After all , Bitcoin is a long term investment .

I think it will keep rising till 600$ and will stay there for a while. We may see a decent dumping after the halving and can also see below 500$ but it will recover fast from there. There is an obvious Bull trend right now and like i say it will continue like that till the halving. It is safe to get away 1 week before the halving.

quite difficult to predict the current situation, according to previous experience, when prices are rising fast enough and it certainly will be decreased. so maybe I will be ready to sell, when I saw it going down under $500

i would definitely not start selling any of the bitcoins right now if i had such a possibility, and i will hold it as strong as i can for the upcoming months as i think its a really great investment option

im pretty confident that the profit will be massive and that i will might even have a chance to become a really rich person by just holding my bitcoins and not doing anything else

Don't sell it even if you see price drop, just hold it till the halving, price gonna much higher at that time and even if price falls now it will not affect the price at halving.

Hm..until halving period is not yet done ,there's still big fluctuation in the market value .the best thing to do is wait for it only a few days left .if you can still hold it hold it and keep it.

I have no idea where BTC price will go in the weeks/months ahead.

That said, were I more of a speculator (short-term actor, buy/sell to make profits) I might sell some if WAY ahead (I am just barely ahead at >$500).

But, if you are going to SELL BTC, where would you put your profits?  Into investments?  Spend it?

The only time I have "spent" Bitcoin was for gold.  Works for me.  I will hang on to my BTC for a while yet.

Last week it was only 440 and after 5 days that is today it went up upto 522 this morning, bitcoin go up +80$ in less than a week, what if bitcoin increases +80 per week? Amd when halving starts it will stop

i would personally wait another month or so, right before the halfing hits. I think thats when the price would be at its highest point.

This is time to hold and I also believe there is much more to come in coming weeks.This is warm up for halving.I don't increase at halving will be permanent of temporary but price will be much more higher than now.It will bring also good new floor which will be permanent.I am in favor to wait and see by holding little more.

The price just broke out of the last trading range, so it has further to go. It is better to hold your coins.

If you are not using China exchanges, wait for price on the rest of them to catch up, and if youre daytrading , sell. Otherwise, i really dont
see the point of simply not holding it atleast until the end of the hype that will obviously happen in the following months.

I have no plans to sell. I might spend a fraction of a bitcoin on something, as I need to spend less than I would have a few weeks ago, but I will be keeping the vast majority of my bitcoin.

My plan is to wait until 1 bitcoin costs the same or more than 1 oz gold again, then I will get rid of a few of my bitcoin.

I'm enjoying the rise though, the price lull of 2015 seems quite distant right now.

No one has patience to hold their coins that long, people will start selling their coins when they see the price of $600 or higher and now its easily achievable.

At this point I would say wait until it plateaus and the upswing loses most (or all) of its momentum, and then you can make the choice as to whether or not you want to sell. Personally I would be keeping my Bitcoin tucked away over the next few days and wait to see where the price goes, but it's not my money so I can't speak with 100% accuracy.

It's all up to you, a lot can happen over the course of a few days, so it's up to you to watch the markets.

I haven't sold anything yet. My selling target will be $600 as I believe with the current bull run it will be a matter of weeks at most to see $600 on Bitfinex and Kraken.

Sell now is a very high risk the price could rise even more.

Don't you think its price will drop soon as this spike is just a temporary. it will soon be back to $450+ when those who pumped it are going to dump again to take profit.

1 year is too long, better for the short term. I think the price of bitcoin increase because the hype of halving and when halving is done i'm scare the price of bitcoin will back to normal.

The rise is just a bubble. The price will drop very fast. One should not be greedy hoping for more rise. The price will probably drop to around $470 - $440 within the following 2 days. The current price is a great opportunity to make some profit. But don't sell all your bitcoins. Sell some today and buy cheap later, you will make profit either ways. Don't be greedy and wait longer. $ 500 doesn't happen a lot.

If I were holding a lot, I'd really consider selling a few at this current prices. That's is already a huge increase in just a matter of days. But as I only have a few fractions, I can only hold and buy more if another opportunity presents itself. I'm thinking that this bubble is going to burst somewhere along the way, but I'm not sure when exactly.

its very likely that will happen. you'll regret not dumping as you lose more than $50 for each btc you didn't dump. what you should so so you won't be losing it is but altcoin such as Monero or maybe ETH and then buy back your btc once it goes $470.

Depend's on one's goal if it's long term or short term. I bought some Bitcoins April 24 2016 when the price was $454 USD today May 30 its $525 USD that's a $71 difference already and if your goal is when it reaches $500 USD then you are already at profit. It's not a good idea to play with Bitcoins without setting a goal or else you might end up loosing instead of gaining.

I would keep them for just a couple more days lets see if the price could actually reach $600 if that happens then you could sell. Do not wait to long before the price starts going to down again.

Just buy and HODL, do not even think of trying to time the market. None of us have ANY IDEA what the price will do over the next few months, stop trying to predict it and profit from it, you will just end up getting burnt. You better hold it until halving event ends.And domt be nervous if the same thing will happen like the previoud halving that bitcoins price drops to $200 2 days i think before that halvong back from 2012.You must take risk like me on this years halving im holding btc too.And one thing,dont sell bitcoins convert them to fiat in your country

Yes the value of Bitcoin is now rising slowly so that is really nice for people who already have Bitcoin but it will be hard to know what is going to happen with Bitcoin itself.
But the chance is low that the value can be higher so that is bad, but holding now will be the best thing that you can do.

Well, once you said that bitcoin really took off and went to $590. Right now we're seeing minor corrections back to $570-$580. But the general trend is still up up up. I haven't got 50 btc, but the price still affects my investments.

Better to keep it right now we already see from 520 now the price is 587 according to preev price.. and i think more pump will come so better to don't panic to sell because it will increase more sooner.. just be patience.. we know many people are satisfied what the price today but its always better to don't sell it because more pump will come..

Keep for 31 more days, until the halving. The price should rise straight up, then plateau, maybe a small drop, then a steady climb like right now.

Don't hold it for a few more days, hold it for a few more years. That might seem to be too long a time, but patience pays off and good things come to those who wait. What I would do is buy a few more and cost average my way up and have a substantial holdings in a few years.

I will keep my coins for halving.After halving I will see if price or bitcoin will increase or decrease.I will sell my bitcoin only for $800.

if only 520$ now i will buy 3-5 bitcoins, and resell it when it reach 600-700$ before or after halving. but my advice for you is just keep your bitcoin until it reach 600-700$

I dont think its a good idea, my suggestion is sell it before halving come. I thnk same scenario will happen where it will be the same last nov. 2013 when it hits 1k usd and suddenly drop to 200usd after halving.

Don't sell your bitcoin hold it for the incoming bitcoin halving in the month of july to earn some more money. Just have some patience on waiting for the price to increase.

The price of bitcoin is $576.12 right now and i think it's better to keep for a few more days or weeks. I think the bitcoin's price will increase again, but for now it's quite stable though.

Ill say that you keep that a few more days man because it's price can rise more the coming days.

If you are closely monitoring the trend of Bitcoins movement every weekend, keep it for now and if you notice as well the it's been a upward trend then keep it for now, but if you need your money and you don't have other source of money then best is to sell it now rather than borrow and pay interest.

I would suggest you to hold your bitcoin for few more years instead if you don't have any immediate fund requirement. The game of bitcoin is not done yet. This price is just a showdown. Hold it for few more years if possible to see its actual magic and you will not regret. Mark my word!

i agree that holding your coins for several years is the best thing, but people securing profits at these prices doesn't mean they will run out of coins. smart people have a good amount of coins stashed up in their cold wallets that they will not touch before the price reaches certain high levels. i do this as well. holding is for the long term, and trading is just to gain some short term profits. i use the current volatility in my advantage to make profit.

I don't think there would be much drop after the halving, based on the comparison with the earlier peak of $1000, those were dark days and the difference in dynamics about trading btc today and in 2014 could not be more pronounced. If there is a drop I expect it to correct itself within a few days.
Either way, the best time to sell would be days before the halving - if you want to sell that is.

Otherwise, the best way to make money out of bitcoin has always been "hold".

From the moment this thread was created the price of bitcoins have substantially increase so the answer is very simple keep and keep until the price is only moving to one direction. As long as you monitor the price when you see it started to fall back then sell directly, that's the way to earn easy money.
