Is the wife allowed to give the husband "a gentle beating" as well?

No, as far as I know their society acknowledges that the men are superior than the women..

Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is well known for his strong support for the Pakistan Taliban and for his ultra-conservative views on Islam. His party (Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)) organized violent protests in Peshawar and Rawalpindi, when Osama bin Laden was assassinated by the NATO troops, during the Abbottabad air raid in 2011.

for me, its inappropriate to beat a woman, whether is a light beating or verbal violence, i think the wife can be more respectful to the husband if we used the soft and firm way to handle her mistake

I never could understand the ways of Islam... or why people believe in it. :-\

There is no other choice. Apostasy is punishable by death in Islam. If you are born to Muslim parents, then you are expected to live as a Muslim till your death. If you renounce your faith, then most probably you will be either stoned to death or beheaded. Even after all this, tens of thousands of Muslims are converting to atheism and Christianity every year, in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iran.

As a Cleric of the Church of the FSM, I hearby decree that any woman administered a "Light Beating" may respond in kind with a "Medium Heavy Beating,"  excepting if the administer of the "Light Beating" is a Muslim Cleric, in which case the Beating may be rachetted up two notches into the "Heavy Heavy Beating" subcategory.

Why anyone supports muslims coming to their countries blows my mind.

A wife who defied her husband's will should not be given a light beating in the first place because beating a women is wrong. They need to be treated nicely and they should not experience violence even if it is light beating.

So if a wife killed her husband she shouldn't be given the death sentence? That just seems wrong.

Not a bitcoin related topic. However i think sometimes women do it to their husband.

For the society to move forward, the men and women should have equal rights. The prime problem with modern Islam is the way it treats its women. I am not a specialist in the subject, but from my minor study, what I realised is women used to have a better status in the old Islamic kingdoms. Islam is doomed.

Mind boggling. I wonder how long attitudes like this can continue but when you think about it, not degrading your wife has only become truly unacceptable shockingly recently in the rest of the world. Marital rape was only outlawed in 1991 in the UK.

Such attitudes will continue for quite some time, because no attempts are being made to counter them. In addition to this, countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia are pouring in tens of billions of USD every year to various third world nations, to popularize these stone age customs. Just hope that the falling crude prices will discourage them from doing it.
