Title: Doubling Bitcoins
Post by: BitMofo on March 04, 2013, 11:02:55 PM
I want to play a little game, it's pretty simple, this is how it works.

I propose that I will double any Bitcoins sent to my address using *magic* or whatever...

This is a game of *trust*. Obviously I can run away after the first few Bitcoins you send me, but where would the fun be in that?

Let's see who loses first!

Game Begin: 18:00 EST
The game will continue for days/weeks.

This address please: 1HNffyHktcD2iB6WJhPxKbALJdg4dwerTG

Any amount greater than 10BTC will not be doubled.
Amounts less than 0.05 will not be doubled as too small and treated as donation!

Top 3 Doubles so far:

I can multiply your bitcoins by 100. Unfortunately, my device does not function on LESS than 10,000 bitcoins. Free unicorn with every transaction. It does take about 7-14 days for me to dissappear the machine to process though so please don't be alarmed if you don't get your bitcoins back quickly.

a) this is a game, everyone fully understands the risks/gains involved.
b) this game will go on for days/weeks, just because I didn't double within 2minutes doesn't mean I'm not doubling!

I would not say it is a scam just yet... the guy is in a different time zone, and he could either refund the initial payments or continue doubling.

This is all very familiar, even the username.  Didn't you run the same 'game' last summer?

Edit: here it is.  I don't remember how it ended, but I can guess... ;)

Edit 2: forgot to paste the link!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108832

Damn good memory.

I played last time.  He doubled my first deposit, and ran off with my 2nd (which was a little smaller, because I wasn't going to take net loss once the first one was paid out).

Then it is time for a scammer tag if it is true.

He's not made any attempt to hide it.  His old posts are still there for all to see.  I don't even know if you can call it a scam since he says in the first post that he's likely to run off with your money at some point.  I expect he only pays out using other people's deposits, and so can't lose.

This. Is ridiculous to ask for a scammer tag when the guy has been extremely clear from his first post... Come on... He says that he will double your money with *magic*... And then you ask for a scammer tag when he runs out with the money? XD

NO need for scam tag... it's a game - it's in the gambling section and it's written in the OP
