Ripple-related posts have been flooding the alt-cryptocurrency board, representing close to 30% of all posts lately (much more traffic than on Ripple's own forum.) To me it would just make sense to give all these posts their own board, it would make subject matter easier to find. If the number of posts on Litecoin, Freicoin, etc. respectively subsequently rise to such levels, then and only then would it make sense to do the same for them.
