Title: Please help, I am completly new to this and having a problem with Phoenix 2.0.0
Post by: coltonrawrr on March 05, 2013, 05:26:20 AM
So I just heard about this whole 'bitcoin' thing, and have been trying to use Phoenix 2.0.0 and it won't work, I do have a wallet set up on the official bitcoin program.

but this is what happens when I start up phoenix:

[03]/04/2013 21:20:36] Welcome to Phoenix v2.0.0
[0 Khash/s [0 Accepted] [0 Rejected] [DISCONNECTED]

and the mining pool I am using is Eligius this is what enter into the CFG file:

phoenix.exe -u http://<address>:x@mining.eligius.st:8337 -k poclbm DEVICE=0 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP AGGRESSION=7

(and yes I do put my address where it says 'address')

I also tried Phoenix 1.7.5 and I do EXACTLY what it says to do in that video and when I run it, I get this:

C:\Users\colto_000\Desktop\Pheonix 1.7.5>phoenix.exe -u http://1B22QRaMkq7J8uEi6
rfkTw9Cdp8YSBV5Mx:x@mining.eligius.st:8337 -k poclbm DEVICE=0 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP AGGRESSION=7
[04/03/2013 21:23:48] Phoenix v1.7.5 starting...

The best advice anyone can give you is to stop worrying about mining.

There are lots of ways to get involved with Bitcoin, and plenty of opportunities to make money. Just forget about mining.

(They -really- need to take mining out of the weusecoins video.)

How else  can I make coins then?

Don't worry about making them. Buy them from someone who has them - or sell stuff for Bitcoin - or provide services for Bitcoin.

If you're unsatisfied with this, it's time to spend some time reading the wiki about mining, and reading the forum to catch up on the last 2 years of development. But in the end you'll come to this conclusion.

The thing is though, I really do want to mine, it really interest me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0

based on
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison
you will get ony about 10 Mash/sec - thats not worth considering electrict costs

you may also try with CPU only, if it works, you may try to update your graphic driver
