You should go with Nxt! Have a look at their new roadmap for Nxt 2.0: https://nxt.org/roadmap/ (https://nxt.org/roadmap/)

And it's undervalued, so you can buy in quite cheap now.  ;D

TALK turned 2 years old in April; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=864994.0
Was listed on poloniex.  Has survived being hyped, dumped, and forgotten.  Still alive.
yield 15%
trades on Alcurex, looking to get listed on CCex and Cryptopia next.  No dev, at least the dev in more Satoshi like, but no need really since the coin functions, plenty of knowledge community members to do what is needed to keep the network working.  Core focus is all good POS coins ... so we are knowledgeable on the other POS coins worth staking.  Goal is to be the premier intel center for POS projects, and also being a resource hub for bitcointalk (our namesake).

Is NXT 2.0 the NXT we have now if so why is it not coached to 2.0

rbies and dbic.
i've already made a lot profits with dbic, the dev is always bringing news in his topic here and always helping the community.

No, it's a completely new blockchain with the ability to have multiple side chains. Nxt 1.x will coexist and will still be supported for a minimum of 1 year after the release of Nxt 2.0 by the devs!

If you have more than 5k $ to invest, in few hours will start NEM nodes rewarding program that will give a good ROI: http://blog.nem.io/supernodes-start/

In my opinion you should go with Vericoin, Netcoin and Nxt.

I personally hold some Vericoin and belive it has a lot of nice features and offers a nice annual reward. (depending on the ammount you are willing to stake.) As for Netcoin, I bought a lot of them at cryptsy and then I got blown :\ but I also think it is a good pick.
Other than than you also have coins like Tekcoin, Antibitcoin, or Fluttercoin, This last one also offers good rewards.
However you should also look through the market cap and take a look at the coin volume to see if its worth it.

Just my 2cents, wherever you choose to invest to stake, please read this thread first: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1494421.0
Then get back here and re-evaluate all responses given in this thread :)

Just a few tips:
- @rigel here suggests to get in NEM by running a supernode, let's do the math as it stands now:
You would need 3mil XEM to run it (mandatory collateral). At current price that's over 10btc cca 5300usd. You would get 70000XEM/day divided by number of nodes (currently 145) == 485XEM/day == 0.00164btc/day currently. As it stands now, there is a promise that rewards will go up, but also you may expect that the number of nodes will go up. So currently for your 10btc investment you would get 0.00164btc a day, which gives you stunning return of investment period of 10btc/0.00164==6097 days. It would be profitable only if price of XEM would increase 10 fold along with daily reward rising 10 fold with number of nodes being constant :)

- Those suggesting NXT for staking at this point probably just want to unload their NXT on you right now. Also you would need to make a substantial investment in NXT (even at this low price) to make anything worthwhile in a year time forging. Read the NXT 2.0 announcement/roadmap and evaluate the proposed timeline there (hint: it is long run roadmap to NXT2.0, a lot of things may happen in crypto space in the long run :). Though it is true, that NXT 1.0 should be exchanged for NXT 2.0 at 1:1 ratio sometime in the future, there is just a promise right now and a lot of uncertainty. So it might be better to just wait and see how the roadmap is being implemented before jumping in.
Anyway, good luck to you making the right decision&staking profitably.

I think, making a DASH node (https://www.dash.org/news/earn-passive-income-running-dash-masternode-raspberry-pi/) is the best choice for passive income, and the development team and community has repeatedly demonstrated this. also i recommend you to stay away from cryptocurrencies with an unlimited supply of coins.

Use CLOAK and get 6% pos interest + no masternodes need, truly anonymous without masternodes, every node/wallet get 1.8% additional of posa3 transactions....so no 9k$ need. More fair imo.

Are you supposing collateral gets burned in some way?

You con opt out in any moment and get your initial investment plus any reward received.
It can be unprofitable only if NEM price crashes.

A Nxt node is staking if it has a minimum balance of 1000 NXT, that's under $7!
But the higher the balance, the more you can stake. There's a calculator here:
https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php (https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php)

Because no new coins are created by staking, you can only earn the transaction fees and this has a high variance, YMMV.

I would recommend Tekcoin. It is very cheap right now and profitable to stake and trade. Considering its price fluctuations lately, it would be best to buy them low and sell them high for bigger profits. Also, Tekcoin is very unique to other PoS coins considering the fact that you only need to open the wallet every 30 days to receive your stake. You can earn up to 40% interest on your TEK balance every 30 days.

Another good PoS coin would be Diamond. It has very limited supply plus an APR of 25% which it makes it one of the most profitable proof of stake coins available. Hope this helps  :)
