if you find the pass could you post it here, just curious to what it was, the coins are yours if you break it.

What kind of password are we talking about here? I don't think that this is the right section for such a thread.

I assume that's a BIP38 encrypted private key?

Would you be willing to share the address that it is associated with (just so we know how much of an incentive there is to try to solve it?

Also, are you willing to share anything at all about what the password is likely to be?

For example:
  • Do you have any feel for approximately how long the password is likely to be?
  • Do you think it used only english based character sets?
  • Do you think it used any capital letters?
  • Do you think it used any lower case letters?
  • Do you think it used any numbers?
  • Do you think it used any punctuation or other symbols?
  • Do you think it used any whitespace (tab, space, etc)?
  • Did you think you chose a password yourself, or do you think you used a random password generator?
  • If you chose a password yourself, are their any patterns you think you're likely to have used, such as "a single long word with some characters replaced with numbers or symbols", or "The first letter of each word in an easy to remember phrase", or "two words separated by 2 to 4 digits", etc?
  • Is there anything else you can think of that might narrow down the search space?

so you mean this is your wallet and you want some one hack it.. first of all hacking is an illegal thing and highly discouraged, second what proves you have that this is your wallet??

There is only .003 BTC in it.

I was messing around with faucets and lost the pass.

Bip 38.

I give up trying to figure out what it is, I think it's only 10 chars but really no idea lol.

It is not illegal if it is requested by the owner.
IF the owner requests a user to hack their computer/wallet/digital account they can doso long as the initial person provides some sort of evidence of ownership.

The OP looks like a private key or something encrypted.

It's the private key to the public key I just posted.

It is obviously impossible to prove I own it without the decrypted priv key...

If you can decrypt it you can take ownership, as I said, it's .003 BTC and was just messing around with faucets figure if someone is bored enough they can mess around with breaking it.

Looks like it is a private key but why you need to be hack it to others.. you can use the private key to recover your wallet instead.

Literally not worth the efforts at all.How about I pay you 0.003 to lock this thread and stop wasting people's time ? If someone wants to try out ,they always can and my message doesn't apply to them.

It's crackable but if you don't remember anything about the password and it's a long one it'd take forever.

Its unfortunately not worth attempting for .003, I would think a person is going to spend more on the resources used to crack it, even if you had information about the password.

I made the same point.Seems like OP took it as an offence and his reply applies for you to.

Not sure what they expected!
You wouldn't ask a user to hack the account if it had something rediculous like 10[bc] or more, would they?
Probably just useful as a hobby for someone to do to experiment with.

Not flat, nor broad enough two "hack" you're password.

Indeed it was :).  There is a large difference between telling someone you don't think someone will spend time on it and telling someone how dare they make a post wasting peoples time and I'll pay you to close it.  One of those people are just being an asshole so I responded as such.

all this for 0.003? nothing to make it easy? and again, for 0.003?  :D :D :D

Interesting. Would try but with such little information seems impossible.

10 characters or numbers are going to take you years to brute force, and all that effort for that amount ...no way Jose'.... there are always some people who would take up the challenge.. because the

mountain is there to climb. I hope the person doing this, would return to this thread and share the experience... even if they gave up half way. You see a lot of threads, where newbies are asking the

question if Bitcoin can be hacked... and this could prove our point, on how difficult it is...  ::)

To the guys above, come on guys. OP is just asking for us to mess around and didn't really want to pay us.

He isn't offering a service or anything.
I see this actually as a challenge or just a fun game but cracking this would definitely take nearly forever (that was a figure of speech, for those who take everything literally).

Its not.worth it if we hacked that account cause it has only 0.003, Its very hard to crack too many numbers and letters, If the wallet has 1btc many people will be interested in that account and they will race to crack it first

I think it is impossible to open, because the owners who create a password0 do not know. Moreover we are just guessing without clue. Because I think a hacker working with a stolen database of our data is not purely a guess. thank you

0.003 is to little, since you know public key, can we donate some coins to make it interesting? I will say 0.2 will have me interested. How about we chip in 0.1 every month it is not decrypted?

There is no MD5 in bitcoin.

There is no database that can help here

Start sending coins, if you continue a few months you might motivate someone to start. I dont think you will though.

Send at least 1 bitcoin to that address and i'm sure some people will be interested to hack your bitcoin address ::)
0.003BTC isn't worth at all, we can use that time to earn more bitcoin.
That's much better and more people will be attract to hack that account.. but honestly its hard to hack that account if you just only seen the address..
Unless that you can open the database of any online wallet..or you know the ip address of the owner to monitor even the cookies to convert those cookies into a user and password..

Good luck with that.

I have a hacking competition open for more than a year and no one hacked just 6 alphabet character long BIP38 password with 1BTC at stake : )
