Title: I just sent LTC to a BTC address! Halp! Post by: nameface on March 06, 2013, 03:25:56 AM I accidentally sent some LTC from BTC-E exchange to my BTC address on a different website.

I don't think they can come back, as far as I know. BTC-e may have a solution but how do I know, I stopped using them because of constant site crashes for me. I'm waiting for a response from their support.

Post by: casascius on March 06, 2013, 04:25:28 AM If you can get the private key for the BTC address, it can probably be converted to the private key format used by Litecoin. My understanding is the public/private key scheme is identical, just with different flagging bytes to say "this is a litecoin key" etc.

Post by: crazy_rabbit on March 06, 2013, 07:44:51 AM You CANT send LTC to a BTC address. So your coins are still at BTC-E. The Litcoin daemon would have never been able to send it.
I'm missing my own LTC withdrawl from yesterday and I didn't make any errors in the address. I guess support is still overwhelmed with everything else. Fingers crossed.
