What is an ISO currency code?

Is that where its recongized as a currency? ( sorry it's late here my eyes are going cross-eyed lol )

I agree - the user interface is left to be desired!

consumers that actually spend it, and merchants that actually accept it. in short, ubiquity.
I have heard BTC being referred to like a "store of value" currency such as gold, but gold is tangible. king tut's mask is made of gold, it is malleable, beautiful, a good conductor. it has intrinsic value. BTC needs to be used for it to evolve out of the geek-hobbyist thing it is now, despite the recent crazy performance it has seen. I really feel strongly that unless BTC is used widely, it will ultimately fail. but ofc it is an experiment, so fail is maybe the wrong word. If you don't use it you will lose it, that's my belief.

What it needs is a third party service that goes between the merchant and the consumer and manages all aspects of monetary transactions. I know this is unnecessary for BTC oldfags who understand how it works, but the reason fiat works as well as it does in terms of user trust and loyalty is, you don't have to know nothing to use it. I guess BTC for dummies is already taken, I would call it "BTC for ignorant, lazy, assholes" but thats why I dont work in PR.

but do you see what I mean, though? Paypal..I pay with the click of the mouse once i have my account. Mastercard...just about as simple... if some genius simply makes a website that is simple to use, easy to integrate into websites, easy to link to bank accounts etc...give it a snappy name, brand it to reek of trust and security and ease of use... they will be the next PayPal and BTC will flourish. If it just remains a store of value thingy for geeks who got tired of playing with Lindens or WoW gold...I can't really see the current interest in it being sustained. People are generally cynical about new ideas, and while novelty can get you so far out of the gate, you can not and should not rely on novelty to win you the race.

Correct. It is an official identifier which, if assigned, will mean that Bitcoin will be directly tradable in the world's tens of thousands of existing FX systems. It will also make it far far harder for central banks to attack in the future.

Price stability:  Huge intraday price moves like the last few days are not helpful to achieving ubiquity for Bitcoin as a medium of exchange. 

I second the price stability sugestion. I checked prices last week and was going to buy today till I saw the huge rise

A few big internet games to accept bitcoin as payment.

1. Grandma friendly interface
2. More legit services that can be bought by bitcoins
3. Stable prices on exchanges

A decentralized Exchange! i imagine something like locabitcoins with a reputation system built into its own blockchain... without this, it is at the whim of the few big exchanges that handle almost all the transactions... More worryingly, the governments that they are subject to....

Bitcoin needs more coverage in media.

Personally, I think it could use some sort of material form. Like an actual bit stamp or certificate like they used to do with silver (Silver certificate aka silver dollar).

Super simple wallet.  As others have mentioned it needs to be "Grandma friendly" to allow for an easier adoption rate.  When one BTC was a few bucks people didn't feel so bad about messing around with $20 worth of coins to learn how things work with the client.  Now a few coins is more than most people have in entertainment/play money set aside for monthly usage.  The psychology of owning less than 1 of something combined with the high value of that one thing doesn't help us out.  We are in an "uncanny valley" so to speak where the value is high enough to limit how much people can play around with it and the value is too low for it to be awe inspiring. 

My idea for the grandma friendly wallet is something that can be easily setup on any device and allows some type of sync between the devices if setup on multiple devices.  Not sure if this exists but 2 factor authentication would be a plus for security but doesn't really help the adoption rate by non-tech folks.   

I made a small bit of $$ off some of the recent alt coin releases due to early mining.  Right now there are too many coins going on for a new person to take it all in.  When I am explaining the whole BTC thing to a new person who shows interest, I usually lose them somewhere around the alt coin discussion.  We should be free to release whatever crypto coin we want, but I think we need to really move towards better coins and not just copies of the two main coins.

The biggesting the BTC needs right now is a better way to buy them so more people have access.

The biggest thing BitCoin needs to the media to not scare people into thinking BitCoin is only used for crime related transactions.

I am looking forward to more anonymous ways to convert BTC to USD, preferably with lower transaction costs. Moneypaks and Polish prepaid cards are fine but are not consistent and you really can't convert large amounts without going through lots of effort.

To have people spend their BTC you have to include some demurrage like in many other local currencys. When the money on your account vanish over time everybody whants to buy something for their BTC.

Bitcoin needs exchanges capable of handling high trading volume.

Dominos or Pizza Hut, either one will do.  BTC for delivery to your door.

if bitcoin's price settles and becomes stable, then acceptance can be much more widespread

A really easy way to get cash without giving your SSN and bank info to an exchange when all the exchanges seem to constantly be getting hacked.
