We are happy to announce that we have begun to put systems in place to enable Carboncoin to be fully backed by Carbon Credits within the next 5 years.

We are hoping to provide our first round of Carbon Credit redemptions at the end of the year and these will be at a significant discount to their fiat price.

This initiative is in addition to the sequestration charity, The Carbon Coin Trust, at the heart of the project and it is felt that it will be a good addition to the project as a whole.

Over the past months we have begun relationships with some key producers of those carbon credits which fit our ethos: good for nature

We have also begun the logistical process necessary for us to take delivery of the credits from our chosen producers.


We have begun to update our protocol which is currently running at a tiny fraction of the electricity consumption of bitcoin while maintaining the same level of security as Proof of Stake coins.


There has never been a better time to get involved in Carboncoin, running since February of 2014, we are available on several exchanges including:

Our Carbon Credits initiative is only one part of the project, there is much more going on too - but also the way we are going about the backing is unlikely to have been done before - so we will see how we get on.

Very interesting meeting on this today. All systems go for backing Carboncoin with Carbon Credits, and a few other things too!

We'll be revealing more once we've made sufficient progress. Things are too commercially sensitive for now.

Carboncoin blockchain continues to run securely and trade on exchange, as it has done since Feb 2014.
