Great project but saying that it will be not most like altcoins (profit bitcoins) its like saying you wont wet your pants after enter the river..I'll be watching this one.

You can still do what you want and not break the forum rules.  Simply set the first block rewards high or develop into the chain a good reward system and talk about it here,  tell people that the first users are going to get extra coins, but without involving the forum as an outright advertising tool,  i could be wrong, but i believe and have seen over and over coins with bounties and such talked about and even pushed on the forum

the difference is simply the wording and the approach, you are giving away coins to get attention for the project, give away coins within the project and as a building tool, not a crazy guy selling TV's at three in the morning on local TV, a simple strong coin/community approach that says if you come and work with us to make our coin and community strong, we will support you within that community and keep you going to help others.

we did a promotion on an old coin that gave new users X number of coins and withheld a prize equal to X, once the wallet with the first coin prize showed that half of its coins had been distributed to brand new wallets(hope brand new users) then that previous bounty was matched a second time.  in other words, here is 5000 coins, keep half and give half to help bring new people, once you gave away the half, then another 5000 coins was deposited to your wallet

it got so much response that we could not keep up with just checking the wallets by hand and had to script it, we went from 6 active connection on our base node, the six developers, to nearly 500 in a few days, the only true test that the new wallets were new users

the forum is a great place and loves helping new altcoins/communities thrive, but there are rules and they will ban if they think they are being violated, that will possibly destroy the chances of your coin, this is the biggest group of people i know of that will get behind getting your coins on exchanges and helping you thrive if you don't look so much like a crazy overnight sensation

Transpotime21bus did not know about this rule and he did not get a warning or email from BTT to inform him. We apologised for this as it is a serious project but we will come back and make sure we are aware of all the rules. None of the 150 BTT users who replied to this post knew aboout this rule  either so it took us all by surprised. We will come back but first of all our apologies to you all and BTT for breaking the rule we were not aware and did not have any intention of breaking any rules. Thanks to all for your support and we will be back for sure. Transpotime21bus account has been banned and blocked for 14 days so if you send him an email to give him your support he will not be able to reply. Stay tuned :)

i personally was just trying to help, seemed you were so excited about the project that you were stumbling into getting killed before you got started, there are so many people here that will support a project that losing this forum can mean losing 50% or more of your new clients/users

Can anyone explain to me how a giveaway differs from an airdrop?

in a case like this, i would understand the difference like this

An airdrop is all encompassing and benefits almost everyone there while a giveaway is usually circumstance based.

Lets say they launch July 1

Everyone that is there for the launch receives a free hot dog and all clients get a free 100 coins in their account two weeks later.

The giveaway is the hot dog and based on being in attendance at the launch, if it was physical

The air drop is there for everyone that is signed up at that time, technically still a criteria for getting it, but all airdrops assume that the person is a customer or client

The difference is seen with the "Saving Clubs" at store, you flash your keychain at purchase and the sales prices unfold, that is a giveaway of savings based on the fact that you are a member, store wide sales in the same store have no special requirements and are for everybody

that is my understanding and will either be right or will prompt someone smarter than me to correct me, thus answering your question either way, lol

I talked to the MOD too. In my understanding the difference between a giveaway thread and airdrop is soly were you apply for the "freebies"

If you set up a google form to apply everything is OK
If you demand to post IN THE THREAD it's NOK

that's my understanding ... maybe a mod could comment .. and maybe there is a chance to lift the 14 day ban for OP

Please reserve my passport also for cryptoland as I would love to time travel. Are going through a wormhole in the bus or is there any other way to do it? I live in Cyprus so I know I am not far off one of the stargates.. I think there is one located in Greece. My team and I we have been here for years and we did not think this was illegal and also all of you thought the same as if not you would have told us and none of the 150 that registered to be citizen of Cryptoland was aware of that as no one said anything and took us all by surprise.. I have sent two emails to mprep I think he is the one who monitors this thread. The reason I did this give away its I saw this in the past with NEM and was a success.

It does seem to be all in the wording, don't use free, giveaway,etc.....in op= Early adopters needed to get blockchain moving.....=bounty for wallet downloads, after confirm id=btc forum account ? better examples out there,  seems to be along those lines-

I know the guy who manages the BTT in Spanish I sent him an email and he responded in 5 mins he told me he is sorry that he can only deal with issues in the Spanish threads. I am not sure who to contact in the English one who can respond as  quick like in the Spanish one

Perhaps the OP should be updated with big red letters warning people to ignore that part of the ANN which ask to post the said phrase
