Title: Bitcoin Scammer Detected
Post by: Bitmart.co.za on June 05, 2016, 05:03:13 AM
Good day everyone.

I Found a site that copied my content and my products as well as replicated my banners - is there a way that i can report this oke? He makes use of payment gateway provider Payfast which is dodgy already as all it takes is a Id and some proof of address and you're online accepting payments. This guy advertises hardware with names copied from our www.Bitmart.co.za Site. He even comes and posts rubbish on our facebook page (we have blocked and banned him now)

I Dont want to name him yet before i dont know what i should or could do but he is for sure targeting our brand and clients.

Hi BitMart

I think we are referring to the same person here. You can read my post I made on MyBroadband I saw the correspondence between his site and yours and I followed the link he posted on your Facebook page. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/821687-Scam-Alert-Bitcoin-supplier
Just ban the guy as he is clearly out to just cause problems. I sell the machines secondhand and his pricing just does not make sense. If he used copyright content just inform the host to make him take it down.

Cheers

Just so tired of clowns giving Bitcoin a bad name. The fact that Bitcoin does not belong to anyone or its not trademarked and can pick and choose who represents Bitcoin makes it a lot easier for scammers like this cryptomart okes to enter the market unchallenged until they made enough damage to catch up to them eventually.

I don't see how someone ripping off your website is meant to give bitcoin a bad name? As mentioned before, you'll have to contact his web hosting provider if he has stolen a unique design and is using it on his own site. He is technically damaging your brand so throw that in the email too. Do what you can, but don't waste too much time on these ripoffs and just try to improve your own shop.
