Title: Why isn't there any Miner's manufacturer left in the "west"?
Post by: Masha Sha on June 05, 2016, 08:09:07 PM
the question is simple but I think the answer complex. I would like you to think about it in a larger context: Michael Flynn said that the biggest threat to him is the economy. So why can't a single western company compete against Bitmain? What do you think?

Doesn't it looks like an ASICs?

A lot of the boards are likely still designed in the west, but manufacturing to the required scale can be a dirty business. It moved east because there was a large population who would accept wages a lot lower than western counterparts. Health and safety standards are expensive maintain, if you move to countries with lower or non-existent controls then it can be much cheaper. When you can chuck toxic wasted into a river and make it someone else's problem, it's hard for developed countries to compete.

There is only Bitmain left. All the others have been defeated. The know-how has followed the manufacturing capabilities. Moreover the culture isn't under attack, safety is provided at all level and harmonious society can prosper in China...

In the mysterious orient tech is cheap, electricity is cheap, labour is cheap, life is cheap. The west doesn't have a hope in hell of competing. And no one's going to burn millions just for the principle of keeping mining global.

We call it Asia. What happened to all civilization who lost the technological edge? When the last time the round eyes entered Beijing they had rifles... Guess what they didn't invented the black powder. Do you understand the meaning of this? If you don't you will.
