I hope it's not hacked. It's down for 14 hours now.

Shit will hit the fan on ETH, DAO and LSK if they are hacked.

If someone can tell me who is the datacenter provider for Poloniex I want to verify the story.  If the datacenter outage only affected them they are lying and I am removing my coins.  I don't like BS.
This smells like Bitfinex all over again and I have avoided being screwed majorly by exchanges so far don't want to get caught with my pants down and feeling like I got screwed.

trading is becoming more and more scary. you try your best to make a little bit of profit with all these pumps and dumps going on and you have to add the RISK of exchanger getting hacked to the list of risks you take when trading!
so topics like this or even a short outage or whatever the reason are always scary as hell.

I wonder what would happen to the alt market if poloniex really did go down the crapper. there must be one hell of a lot of paper profits sitting on there. I hope the guy who runs it is keeping it watertight.

yeah I strongly agree with you. The worst is that it is often very sudden. You try to log, can't, read the official announcement, and then your coins are gone.

It is always beginning like that. Actually I would like to hear full disclose of poloniex why they don't have any backup hosting provider.
After all these hacks and failed security protocols of other exchanges we should worry about even 5 minute service outages like this.

Poloniex is hosted on Cloudflare servers in Los Angeles, but things like this do happen.  Even Facebook has fallen over a few times and they probably own a whole datacenter to themselves!  There's plenty of whois detail available on the domain HERE (https://whois.domaintools.com/poloniex.com).  Why don't you phone Tristan and ask him what happened  ;)
