Title: Need some tips to start mining at low/no electricity cost.
Post by: tocarace on June 07, 2016, 12:50:15 AM
Hello everyone, I'm new at this post, I want to know if it is possible to make some money mining with a GPU (GTX 750 TI) I live in Venezuela and here the electricity is pretty cheap for mining, I just want to know if I can make some bucks with a small scale gpu, I know that it is a pretty shitty gpu but that's all i can get so please calm your tits, that's all I can get. ThanksBTC.

Need more information to make any sort of determination.  Exactly how cheap is your electricity?
Please show the cost in $/kWhr

It is really really cheap, I can't really say you how cheap it is but I pay like 0.3$/month for a big house (in electricity), let's say like .03$/kWhr maybe less. Cheesy

PeriodRevenue(ETH) Revenue(USD)Cost
Min 0 00
Hour00.03 0
Day 0.10.82 0.03
Week 0.72 5.76 0.2
Month3.01 24.10.86
Year 28.03 224.24 10.51

This is mining ETH and I assumed $.03 per kWhr and used ~40 watts power consumption for the 750Ti

you can use solar system, but you need more money to start it in first time.

I don't have any recommendations presently.  The halving is nearly upon us so I think it would be silly to purchase a new bitcoin miner at this time.  Used miners might be the only option but I've been out of the bitcoin mining game since the Asicminer Tubes.

not a good gpu  can you get this one amd r9 380?

that would make about 40 usd a month after power. you need to mine eth coin.

1 r9 380 uses 170 - 175 watts in a pc.

but I am not perfectly sure about  the one you have as I use amd gpu's  to mine eth coin.

if you want to mine btc no gpu works.

not worth it, for the simple reason that solar panel cover only 4 hours a day in the best case scenario, maybe six at max

so you need to invest really really big with them, which make roi impossible to achieve

He says he has cheap power and he reckons it's $.03 per kWhr.  Solar power is expensive by comparison!
