We have launched a new patinated special edition of our 2016 silver coin and we are going to auction the first 20 coins from our limited edition 1 BTC Denarium Patinated Silver Coin of 2015. The total batch is 100 coins and the rest (80) will be on sale at Denarium.com when the auctions are finished. This is the first of two auctions and there is a total of 10 coins on sale.

All coins sold are pre-assembled and ready to ship right after the auction. The coins sold in this auction have special serial numbers A101, A102, A104, A105, A106, A107, A108, A109, A110, A111.

Quality of the coin

The coins have a special patinated finish which makes them look very different from a regular silver coin. The surface quality of the coin is good and everyone in our team agrees it is better in that regard than our regular silver coins.

General information

You are ONLY bidding for the coin itself, not the bitcoin value inside the coin. If you win a coin, you can choose to buy it loaded which will add 1 BTC to the auction price. Or you can choose to buy it empty. To the US we can only sell coins that are not loaded by us. The "empty" coins can easily be loaded with bitcoin value by the customer himself/herself, however.

Shipping cost

Shipping is paid IN ADDITION to the auction price. Price can vary from 14-60 EUR depending on where we need to ship. Finland is cheapest at 14 €. For most European countries it will be 25 € and also for some Asian countries but for some it will be as high as 60 €. UK, Germany, US and Canada is 55-60 €. It is possible to combine shipping if you have other orders from Denarium.com or other Denarium auction wins, so keep that in mind. There is potentially also a Group Buy option which you can use to get cheaper shipping.

Serial numbers

All the coins have special auction serials (A). The coins in this auction are A101, A102, A104, A105, A106, A107, A108, A109, A110, A111. The serial A103 does not exist since the hologram had defects and was discarded during assembly. These are very special since all the coins sold at the website will have either L (loaded) or E (empty) serials.

The winners of the auction can (in succession starting from the highest bidder) choose which serial they want. It can be the lowest available but also one of the others.

Shipping date

The coins will be shipped right after the auction and payments have been finished.

How to bid

You can bid for any amount of coins from 1 coin to 15 coins. The bidding format is "Nickname 2 @ 0.5" which means "I'm bidding for 2 coins, 0.5 bitcoins each". If you want to bid for one coin only, post "Nickname 1 @ 0.5". If for all of them, post "Nickname 20 @ 0.5". The auction is conducted by using 2 decimals only. So you can bid "2 @ 0.51" but DO NOT bid "2 @ 0.511".

So if I were bidding for 2 coins and 0.5 BTC each, I would post "Technomage 2 @ 0.5". If you forget to add your nickname, the bid will not count. So don't forget. It is much easier for us to record the bids when the nickname is also posted.

Each winner will pay exactly the amount that they bid. Meaning that if the highest bidder bid 1 bitcoin and the lowest winning bidder bid 0.4 bitcoin, then the highest bidder will pay 1 bitcoin for his coin and the lowest winning bidder will pay 0.4 bitcoin for his.

Auction rules

- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. You can put multiple bids in one post, however.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.01.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will be first in line to win a coin.
- Bids are considered invalid and will be ignored if they do not specify the nickname of the bidder, the price of the bid and the amount of coins the bidder is bidding for, or if they could not possibly win any slots.
- Winning bidders must inform me within 24 hours after the end of the auction which serial number they are choosing and which country the coin will be shipped to. Then the winner has another 24 hours to pay the full auction price.

If these rules are confusing, please ask in the thread and I will answer.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. If bids are rejected for any reason, the next bids in line that didn't win originally, will come into play and will have a chance to buy a coin.

There is a small typo in the description: the coins are of course 2016 editions, not 2015. We actually have never produced 2015 editions of the silver coins.

The end of the bidding for the 10 coins is Monday 13th of June at 20:00 UTC.
But there's a new bid session (I presume for one of the 10 coins) each time there have been no new bids in *3 minutes*?

It's a "no sniping" rule.
Basically, a bid close to the ending time extendes the auction until 3 minutes after the bid.
If now another bid is placed, the auction will end 3 minutes after that new bid, and so on with every bid placed, up until there are no new bids placed in a 3 minute window.
At that point, the auction will be over.

Shouldn't bids be arranged by time??? I made the first bid of 0.1 and I am lowest on the list regarding 0.1 bids :-\ I should be 4th position on the list. Please think about this because everybody wants the lowest serial#

I GOT A QUESTION:

So if say i bid again but for only 3 coins - and in the end my 3 high bids + 2 old bids are highest for 5 coins
But OP says if someone bids again there previous bids will cancel out

Can someone explain that to me please :)

That's a typo on the description from an old template. The amount is 10 coins.

As stated in the OP, the auction ends Monday 13th of June at 20:00 UTC and when there have been no new bids in *3 minutes*. The "no new bids in 3 minutes" rule is not relevant until the end time has been reached.

For example, if someone makes a bid on Monday at 19:58:30 and there are no newer bids with timestamps from 19:58:30 to 20:01:30, the auction will be over. If there is a new bid at 20:01, then the auction will continue to 20:04 and if there are again bids, it will continue again. Until there are no bids in 3 minutes.

Hopefully this helps explain it.

So if i bid 1 @ 0.5 then my 10@0.17 cancels out ? even though am bidding for one now ? or it counts as - 9 @0.17 + 1 @0.5 ???

Yes, it cancels them. Every time you place a bid, your previous one becomes invalid, no matter how big that bid was.

It's possible to put multiple bids at once. Rarely used but can be done. You could bid for 5 coins at x price and for 5 coins at y price. Just put two separate bid announcements in the same post.

Both will count. But only the ones in the most recent post.

Not my auction but i agree with luptin.  If there was a sudden drop in btc right after the auction ends then everyone gets a deal.....cant have it both ways, make sure you are preparred to make payment if you plan on bidding.

It is OK and valid. This is clearly not a case of intentional price manipulation or something like that. He simply made a stupid bid which didn't make a lot of sense and is now bidding like everyone else. Newbies need a second chance but there will be no third, of course.

My recommendation for now is that we move on from that particular subject and continue the auction.

Mitchell, can you please update the list. There is significant confusion now since it is missing at least Zeroxal's second bid and also the current #1 bid which is IWantACoin 1 @ 0,26. That one is probably missing since he used a comma instead of a dot.

The bid from CanaryInTheMine reflects this confusion since from his 3x bid only 1x is actually winning a coin (if the list is corrected).

I think it was a mistake on Twitter, it happens all the times if the social media person is back in Finland where they are 3 hours from UTC time.
So that's why 20 (UTC) can easily be misinterpreted for 23 (UTC).

In Finland it'll be 23PM when the auction finishes.
