Title: referral links VS faucet rotators
Post by: poptok1 on June 08, 2016, 06:07:28 AM
Referral links VS faucet rotators. Should we boycott rotators?
As you know, in general, referral links are not allowed on the forum boards.
However nobody has anything against referring to faucet rotators which are in fact massive referral link databases.
I really don't like double standards thus this pool.

It is more in the line of: Nobody cares. Faucets are really pointless. To be honest, I have never clicked on one of the rotators since I've been around. Considering that they are indirectly posting referral links, it would make sense to disallow them as well. I'm against any kind of referral links (both indirect and direct).

In my opinion, we should disallow rotators to be posted on this forum starting from now. Simply because people are using rotators to their own benefit, i.e. putting referral links in them for their own profit.

This is the same nature as a referral link, so yes, I think we should ban faucet rotators.

IMO, if single referral links are not allowed on the forum, it is also a 'must' to reject rotators . As of checking the micro earnings board, there are only few threads about rotator , but it doesn't mean that it is all good. I'm very sure that one day, if rotators will be permanently allowed, ME board will be bloated with old and new faucet rotator. The board will experience endless bump and ups from rotator owner so that they will be on top. It will be a complete disaster!

I remember i mentioned something like this before when I saw that barely the first page in micro-earning contains around 90% of rotators' related topics.
But in the other hand I don't think that prohibiting it in btctalk is a good idea, i would suggest a unique topic that contains it all, every one have to make a post about his rotator in this unique topic, if he posted it somewhere else it should be deleted

We should just allow them to have their own thread or board,I don't see any issue on that in my opinion it's like helping each other I send give you links of all the best faucet that you can access every one of it in one click and by doing that I made a few satoshis ..

It's not like they spam/share their faucet rotators outside Micro-Earnings section.

IMHO, referral links (if allowed) would be mostly shared in the micro earnings section too, as well as signatures; but faucet rotator owners put their links in their signatures as well so it's pretty much the same there.

Make a faucet rotators needs time and money, so just let them earn small amount of money.

Wrong and wrong. There are a lot of faucet rotator scripts out there that someone who doesn't know how to code to save their life can use to make a rotator. Also, money? Where does money come into play? Domains aren't required (or sometimes they use a domain they got for free, like the .XYZ giveaways), and there are always free hosters out there.

Most people know that faucet is just waste of time anyway

The hundreds of people who regularly visit Micro Earnings prove your point wrong.

Don't start a thread to post your referal link. If you create a thread, even if its multiple paragraphs and pretty much on point, if you have your referal link in it, more likely than not its going to be seen as a spam advertising thread that will probably get removed.

[1]Referal links are not banned here, but the majority of users do exactly what I said not to above, they get their referal links removed, and the misconception that referal links are banned is created.
The faucet rotator rules apply the same as any referal link, such are the rules that I posted above.

Referral links are not banned. Read the quoted [1]post above.

ETFbitcoin says most, not all. So, his point is suitable IMO.

I would rather ban signature campaigns. would get rid of loads of spam. Rotors or faucets are a small fish compared to signature campaigns when it comes to scams, pluss it would make a few sub sections worth reading again.
if you read Bitcoin Discussion or Economics it's nothing but spam. first post is a question. Its answered in post 3 or 4, and then it's 10-20 pages of spam
