I think this is a great idea, and I would recommend it to people with talent. If this video goes viral or ANY other video where someone is more talented... people will see it globally and he/she will give us

loads of exposure and he/she might even make a little fortune. No need for Ad income from YouTube for the amounts of hits you receive... just a little added bonus from Bitcoin. I hope this guy got

Didn't watch the video because of my lousy data plan, but I wonder if there are many folks who would happen to have bitcoin and be willing to part with some for a street performance.   People can't even sell decent goods and services on this forum because folks are so stingy with crypto.   But I do agree, it's a damn good idea.

This is exactly what I would do if I were a street performer! Why not open the doors to tips from everyone (that uses BTC) on youtube?

Well don't be that harsh to him - he is doing well, the high notes are not his strong side, but he sounds better than most of the street performers in my country ;) It's nice to see someone like him, getting the word out about bitcoin - he may not be successful musician, but just spreading the word is enough  ;) If I meet someone in my country doing something like that I will be more than glad to give him a tip :)

I wasn't impressed by his singing skills but as I can't speak French I can't comment on the lyrics part maybe it was some very captivating song  :D Anyways I think this street performer is doing a very smart YouTube advertising and if his video goes viral he will possibly get a lot of tips from viewers who use Bitcoin. Imagine if he has uploaded this video to other video sharing websites and people scan the QR code and donate coins he would probably receive tenfold more money than the fiat paper money he usually collects in his guitar case. I would say he is a very smart businessman that guy ;D

But if his video gets a lot of exposure on YouTube there will always be people who will appreciate his performance and send him something in Bitcoin by scanning the QR code right? You shouldn't form your opinion about Bitcoiners in general basing everything on people from this forum. A lot of people like to give tips to performers and even though this guys isn't particularly skilled there will always be viewers who will feel touched by his act and send him money. You don't get the point right ? How bad he sings is not the concern ,he is promoting and using bitcoins is.You know that is the best possible way to make people aware of bitcoins.Seems like in few days even beggars will give up on cash.

You can still give him tips "gladly".Use your phone scanner to get his bitcoin address from the video.Post the address here,people might actually send him tips,including me.

Most street performers are so bad they can't earn enough money to pay for their bus ticket back home. That one will need all the tips he can get, but he's so bad any Bitcoin tips will probably be less than the fees used to send them. He'd be lucky to get a one sat tip.

Well this is very clever marketing on his part though I have to admit. He probably knows he is not doing so great so he decided to film himself performing and post the video online so as to attract more people who will eventually scan his QR code and donate some Bitcoins to his wallet. But we don't know for sure if he is really a street performer or not. What if this is a joke and he is just trying to figure out how many Bitcoins he could get from complete strangers over the Internet. I think his efforts are worth it but his talent in singing is not very good  ;)

The great thing about this is that people can pay him even though they aren't carrying any cash or change with them. It makes it very convinient to send him a few dollars in bitcoins. I t's also harder for him to get robbed.

This guy is really smart. He knows the youngsters love bitcoin and looking for way to spend their bitcoins. And since donations are normally not a lot he is very well aware that he now can have some extra's. I love it when people play this psychology game.

Agree with you to an extent but he's not really smart as you have put it.He seems to be more practical towards shit around,maybe he knows a thing or two about bitcoins he's taking it as an other opportunity to earn more.Since every newbie around the forum ,he thinks bitcoins=more money and getting rich sooner,which is a lie.

Nice idea, It's will make someone will easier to donation, Maybe will appear another performer will adopt bitcoin, Maybe it's also advertised bitcoin to civilians.

This is very interesting, however we must appreciate his job by accepting bitcoin as payment method, campaigning in this way indirectly provide information to people about what bitcoin is and how to use it

this is the second best idea that i have seen so far for an individual who is accepting bitcoin. and they are all great ideas and shows vast usage of bitcoin.

by the way the first thing was a college student who printed his QR code on a big paper and added donate here i am a student and also Reddit logo and got a lot of donations.

i suggested this here a while ago

if you see a street performer, busker, or even homeless beggers,
you should stop and tell them to make a sign and start to accept bitcoin
(also donate a little to them when they do start)
this would give bitcoin huge public awareness

dont forget to metion, they can accept bitcoin without it affecting any money they may get from social/welfare etc.

good news,and of course unique,every peopl who knows about bitcoin should use it on any payment or any donation,that sweet and make bitcoin more popular with every way is our duty as bitcoin enthusias.

Dude,he is not making money out of the youtube video in case you don't know.The video is uploaded by some teenager who probably likes the idea.What laws are you even talking about ? You can do whatever want with your music video on youtube as long its original and not exploiting the copyrighted material.Anyhow that dude is too bad to actually make some money out of donations with that signing skills.

He may not be getting donations from passerby but was getting donations from those who have watched the video on youtube. 0.07196218 BTC is not bad enough. That performers' idea of accepting btc is working. I wonder how much he could get from his stint.

i also think that it is very, very interesting, and i think that it will be good for him as people more likely will donate bitcoins rather than fiat money for sure so he might get more

and if we would think more, people like he increases bitcoins popularity so it is good for us too because more people will see bitcoin's name and probably will want to know more
