I personally use authy it works amazing and didn't face any problems so far. This is wat they said when you possible lost your phone or whatever could be the reason you can't access is anymore.

I LOST MY PHONE WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Go to: https://www.authy.com/phones/reset. After you buy a new phone simply re-install the App and all accounts will be synchronized back.

It's not about Google authenticator but there are good reasons to use Authy instead. You can read more about it here: http://www.guidingtech.com/50036/ditch-google-authenticator-authy/ (http://www.guidingtech.com/50036/ditch-google-authenticator-authy/) and here: https://www.authy.com/tutorials/how-use-authy-google-authenticator/ (https://www.authy.com/tutorials/how-use-authy-google-authenticator/).

I would suggest using google authentificator on pc with the help of google chrome. because if your PC is damaged or google chrome is in trouble just change the pc and open your google chrome and login to google chrome account/google account. And then your google authenticator will also load in new browser. Thank you

You also can print offline restore codes on paper, to keep as a backup if you would lose your phone.
