That's a good point.  It's unfortunately that only a small handful of people are actually dedicated to making Bitcoin a useable currency rather than a get rich quick scheme.

the volatiles in price made it very difficult for merchants to price their goods in terms of BTCs.

I'm pretty sure that's only a problem if you arn't good at coding, and design your website with static prices.

And if you guys can show me a market that the dollar doesn't have direct influence over that would be great.

Non-static prices are a form of failure. If the prices are tied to another currency, you could just as well use that currency directly. Why the unnecessary (costly) conversion to Bitcoin in the middle?
