I don't know namecheap in particular, but i know using fake names should be possible.
I've regged dozens of domains, and i know i never had to send any proof of identity. since all my domains contained legal content, i never bothered to lie about my identity tough. That being said: i don't know if it's legal to use a fake identity to purchase domains, i suppose you could be breaking some laws, and you might face some consequences by doing this.

Yes, you certainly can. You can also pay directly with Bitcoin:

It's possible I used fake names on one of my site, they are not really very strict on the identity of their account holders, one good reason why many people prefer namecheap is the free whoisguard and you can also use bitcoin to pay for domains and hosting order..

You are better off avoiding Namecheap and using orangewebsite.com in Iceland instead. They will register a top level domain for you completely anonymously, all you have to provide is an email and pay by bitcoin. You can also connect by Tor.

No need to actually use a fake name, you can use namesilo => use your real name, enable privacy protection (for free) and pay with bitcoins. That way it's legally OK, but the whois info will not show your name ;)
Good luck, adult tubes are a saturated market, but that doesn't mean you cannot learn a thing or two by running them.

Is it actually illegal to use a fake name when you register a domain while using a fake name?
Would that be considered fraud or something similar?

No idear, the only thing i know is that a very, very, very long time ago, i regged a domain without id with registerfly.com. A couple years later, they went belly-up, and i lost my domain since i had no way of proving the domain belonged to me.

Also, if you use a fake name, anybody can use this form:
https://forms.icann.org/en/resources/compliance/complaints/whois/inaccuracy-form
If a complaint is made against your domain, and you don't rectify the situation, icann will just cancell your domain (at least, that's my understanding of the problem).
I think it's ok to use privacy protection tough, as long as the privacy protection agency is a real organisation, can be contacted, and has your info on file... It's just how i have always assumed it worked.

if you're going to make a commercial site such as an online store, using fake details is completely wrong decision,in case somepeople will trying to look further into your website details and do some investigations in order just to make sure, but if you still want to hide your data fake details will make your more secured, and namecheap accept bitcoin, don't need to waste your money for bitcoin debit card

did you know that whois guard can actually bypassed through registrar's customer service and just ask the data to them, some of registrar will not allow you but most of them will allow you, using fake data is the best way

if he use whois pricacy this form is useless and they don't pay attention.

I suppose it's possible, because we know the registration and payer in the name cheap is very easy and can be done with fake payment account. so of course you can create a website with the fake details. whether you will make HYIP? HA HA

That is reason why people using namecheap (or bitcoin) in the first place: Anonymity.

I heard some negative things a few days ago in this forum about their service though.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1500951.0;prev_next=prev#new

Read the topic and decide yourself. To me; they are fine, you won't have any problems.

Using fake data is the best way? Of course not. However, there's  problem about legality. I believe such adult sites require special permits to be operated, like permits that approve of the models shown, the rights to the videos and stuff, or is it just a domestic rule?

I think namecheap.com is a fine hosting site.  With regards to identity, I think it is fine to fake your identity but i wonder why you have to?  And btw good thing with name cheap is that you can us Bitcoin as mode of payment that seals your anonimity plan to success :D.  And they have promo's too.  Discounted price of domain name for a year.  Not bad if you want to subscribe for it .

If you use false details in your registration, your registrar can just take your name away from you without needing a court order, or anything else. They can even do this if you move, and don't update your details.

You can pay directly with Bitcoin on Namecheap. And of course you can use fake informations, that's even recommended.
