Title: New Blockchain.info Wallet
Post by: LFC_Bitcoin on June 13, 2016, 10:50:01 PM

I have a wallet with bc.i , I've got quite a few public keys in this wallet with bitcoin in them (not a lot of money as it's my online wallet for every day spending). I haven't upgraded to the new wallet that they're offering yet.

If/when I do, can I trust that the addresses & bitcoin's that I possess in my current wallet will be present in the new version when/if I upgrade?

Please no idiots reply who haven't got a clue.

Yes, they do pass on to the new version if you upgrade, as far as I know. It was what happened to me when I upgraded. Have you seen/tried out the new version yet? Many people dislike it, including me, and some things are harder to find like message signing. The interface is more confusing imo. Anyway, I still recommened you export your keys as a backup, just in case. I don't think anyone has had problems losing their keys though.

I hope my reply doesn't meet the wrong criteria re clueless, but you might try sending ALL your BTC from your current blockchain.info wallet elsewhere (like a hardware wallet) before you try the new wallet.

I too am interested to hear about user experiences at blockchain's new wallet service.

Yeah I think I will send coins to my Core client before I try & upgrade.

I do have a bc.i provided paper wallet back up with both public & private keys so I should be ok regardless.

I've never really upgraded my blockchain.info wallet to the new one because I've seen a thread in this forum and looked at the replies. I was surprised to see multiple problems they had when they upgraded, but that was around 1-2 days after the official 'release'. I wouldn't know now and I wouldn't try myself but yeah. Empty your wallet first then upgrade for security reasons.

well nothing's perfect in this world, even windows 10 which created by a big company (microsoft) still have a bug after official release
so,bug in blockchain's new verson is very common

You can simply upgrade and you will see balances to the new account same as old one but with different user interface and functions. I have already done this, but it is always advised to atleast export your addresses private key in .pdf form to use later on case of problem.

The upgrade indeed is easy to do these days, its just that you have to find it out but if you find it out its easy for sure!
