Doesnt look like you can buy without the box.  Also the single 5btc is 6 but if you buy 5 of them you have to pay an additional 2btc (32btc total)?  Thought it would be the other way around you would get a discount.  Either way i will see how this progresses and will probably pick one up.  Thanks Miner

Edit: what is the min amount (total for the group) before we set the order (or is it by time?)

Are these (1 BTC) coins marked "Series 2" or something? How do they differ from the last group buy that sold out?

Chris

They are the second batch 1BTC, but I doubt they'll be marked differently as that will mean new tools to make them.
The pictures on the site look the same too.

Think they were just out of stock not so much the series.  Think they are making the V series until block halving happens.

I emailed BTCC about the codes I received.
It appears they are stackable; however, it didn't specifically state if they were reusable and/or if stackable means the coupon can be used for multiple coin purchase or if it meant a coupon for each (1 coin and 2 coin set) was stackable.

Also, I noticed that BTCC removed the available number of sets available for the 5 coin set.  Last time I looked, there was 19 left.

I think their sales have slowed down. By removing the numbers you can put a little pressure on customers, making them think the coins are nearly sold out.

There was only the QTY for the 5 coin set.  Not sure how much pressure as not too many people are in line to pay the premium of 7BTC for a set with a face value of 25BTC.  It's nice that it is also the only coin (set) with an exact production limit.  It would be nice if the other coins did the same with regards to the limit.

The coin tracker by Anduck makes it nice as it shows how many are made (and redeemed).

I agree. I love that you get an entire fresh block if you buy the 5 coin set but a 7BTC premium is way too high.

On other notice, the new 1BTC red cases look pretty sweet :D

Ok i am trying to convince myself to buy one or two of these but i cant get the gut feeling in my stomach.  Its sounds like an operation of multiple people in building these coins, and all it takes is one rougue employee to get their hands on the keys.....does anyone else feel this way or can someone dispel my fear of this.  I do like the straight from the block bitcoins loaded on these.

I suppose the question in my mind is more like... Are all the BTCC Titanium V-Series 1BTC physical bitcoins from the same original batch (all coins minted and funded at around the same time), just released in two intervals?

I ask this, because it may influence collectibility in the future. If all the coins were minted / funded at around the same time, then I would consider them all to be of the same series (Series 1), just released in two intervals. However, if the second release was minted / funded at a considerably different time, then I would consider these coins to be two different series (Series 1 and Series 2). Like most cryptocoins, the series one coins would be more collectible in the future and worth a bit more.

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
Me

You can look at anducks tracker and see when each coin was loaded.  Dont know if you know the addy of the coin you buy until you recieve it though.  They are incrementally funding these (not all on the same day)

Edit: i believe these are all "v" series or their first series of coins.  Think in the forum bobby explained that the v series will be complete ir done once halving arrives.  So about another 3 weeks or so of minting these

So, then... I guess that if the coins were all minted at the same time (which is highly probable), then I'd consider them all of the same (first) series.

The new batch of 1 BTC coins haven't been minted yet. I received an email from BTCC saying the following:

Interest in the One Bitcoin was phenomenal, and we quickly sold out our first batch.  In light of the huge demand we’ve seen, we are now making preparations to manufacture and sell our next batch before the block halving. As a new option, you can now order the One Bitcoin with a red leatherette etui. You can preorder the coins now; they will ship by June 30th:

Minted? already done most likely
My guess is that they minted all of the coins already in one big run.
Then they sit on them and "manufacture" them (READ: assemble)
Great marketing tactic to make people spend more..... like say 1BTC premium on a $5 coin ;D

thanks

That's possible. I still like their 1BTC price. 1.15 BTC for a loaded coin + a leather case is pretty cheap :D.

Their answer about the 1 BTC premium was pretty straight forward:

Yeah but their pricing model doesnt make sense. .15btc fee for 1btc, 1btc fee for 5btc and 7btc fee for 5 coin 5 set?  So would the fee for a 10btc be even greater.....same coin (basically) same material...im still trying to convince myself to buy one of these and not another cas coin....

Yes, I agree. I think it's more likely that they were all minted at the same time, just released in small batches.

I think I'll consider them all of the same (1st) series.

Hi everyone,

I want to take this opportunity to address the questions about pricing of BTCC Mint physical bitcoins.

Pricing is always a sensitive topic.  Make it too cheap, and the business can lose money and risk being shuttered.
Make it too expensive, and people always complain.  In fact, nothing in this world is ever cheap enough, as there will always be people who complain about price.

However, rather than rant on, let me give you all a different perspective about how we see our products and chose this pricing strategy:

1) We are selling a premium product.  Premium products command a premium pricing: special features, and limited quantities.

2) In a very important sense, this is not like any other physical bitcoin:  The bitcoins loaded in the BTCC Mint V Series coins are all freshly mined from the blockchain block reward, all in the current year.  For all of the other physical bitcoins out there, they're practically unlimited, as there are already over 15 million bitcoins in existence and any of those can be used to load the coin.  The other physical bitcoins out there can literally have an issuance in the millions, it's just a matter of sending some existing bitcoins into the address of the private key beneath the sticker.

For BTCC Mint, we are giving you allocation of a limited resource: fresh bitcoins mined from the BTCC Pool.  We only mine so much every day and every month.  In fact, after the block halving, the amount available even goes down further.  This is why the premium charged for the Five Bitcoin is not the same as the premium charged for the One Bitcoin.  Selling you the Five Bitcoin is effectively costing us the resources (newly mined bitcoin) of selling you 5 of the One Bitcoins.  For that reason, we charge more premium even though we still sell you a single physical coin.

Every V Series physical bitcoin we sell is from a limited resource: newly mined bitcoins from the blockchain block reward.  In fact, even if BTCC Mint business becomes very successful in the future, there's a real limit on how long we can keep selling these coins.  For the Five Bitcoin, we can at most sell them for the next 8 years, at which time the block reward would come down to 3.125 bitcoins each.  After that, it will be impossible to mine 5 bitcoins into a single Five Bitcoin coin.  For the One Bitcoin, that will have a maximum production lifespan of another 16 years. (This is also why there's a not-too-artificial limit of 21 of the 5-piece Five Bitcoin set, as after the block halving, we won't be able to create any 5-piece sets that are all from the same block reward. That's it; no more!)

BTCC Mint is selling you a very limited, premium physical bitcoin, made of really special pure Titanium, containing a rare and limited supply of freshly mined bitcoins.  Going forward after the block halving, we will only see 1,800 BTC mined per day, and that comes to less than 700,000 bitcoins a year in total supply of freshly mined bitcoins.  Of course, the vast majority of that won't be used for physical bitcoins, we understand that.  Most importantly, we are selling you a premium allocation of newly mined bitcoins.  We are not just selling you random bitcoins, in a private key on a sticker stuck to a piece of metal, precious or not.

Hope this gives everyone some more insights into the V Series coins from BTCC Mint.  I hope I've properly explain to you why our pricing method is based on the amount of mined bitcoins in the coin, and not merely charging a service fee or manufacturing overhead on the coin production.

Thank you for your understanding, and I'm happy to receive your further feedback, comments, and suggestions.

As a bonus for the few of you who get to read this:
We will announce a new offering from BTCC Mint in about 10 days.  Stay tuned!  :)

thanks,
Bobby

Very Kewl.  Completely understandable regarding the premium.  I believe Casascius premium was about the same at the time.  The only think that would make it a terrible investment is if the price was lowered or your started accepting currency for purchases.

Wondering if the announcement is going to be a 1 Block coin.

Also, wondering if there is a 5 coin set coupon code. - HINT!

I think i want one, wish they still offered without a box (i know its only .05) but...
Well, there are people that are reselling them now, but you're not going to find them at 1.1BTC
Keep in mind that there are shipping costs, import costs, double shipping to get them to the USA, etc.
One was just auctioned in the USA which landed at a price of 1.33BTC + shipping.

I was planning on buying one but their justification for the 1 BTC premium turned me off.

I don't see where they made a bad justification.
10% for a 1BTC coin
20% for a 5BTC coin
20% for a 2x 5BTC coin set
28% for a 5x 5BTC coin set

Getting higher instead of lower.... Well, it's not Costco pricing method.   Gonna be harder to sell the bigger coins though.  Gotta admit, the premium increase is holding me back as well

I wonder if the 5x5 is in fact a complete Block. That's actually a very cool idea.

You own a complete mined Block. All coins from it in your set. Thats cool, then of course a true 25BTC Coin where the entire block is stored, again, very cool

BTW Bobby

I just bought another BTCC Titanium, this time in Red Case. Have added a little message request directly to you :)

Yes..like that.
But for you Zepher, you would be able to save shipping if you order with our group buy since we will be splitting it!!
We use a 3rd party shipper since we are not able to order directly to US.
The 3rd party shipper then reships to us here.
Your coin would stay with the reshipper, since they are located in your same area. :D
Then they would pass it to you.
Thanks

Awesome, thanks guys! 1.18BTC sent to address in OP. Red Leatherette ETUI please. Thanks.

I know mj was packing parcels yesterday, so I don't expect it to be long :)

I guess I am the only one who has mine so far, because it didn't go to the US.

They are lovely coins, pics??? Glad I got one.

Since you asked for pics, although I wasn't part of this group buy....

Thanks Michail :)

I guess what I was trying to say came across wrong!

I was asking if anyone wanted a pic, as I was the first to receive mine on this shipment.

Not quite sure yet, I'm not having it graded right now but maybe in the future.  The packaging is definitely nice.  ;)
