not really bitcoin relater but ill offer a reward to the advice that helps.

i stupidly synced a hardrive to the cloud and then deleted a file without unsyncing it first so it deleted alot of files (most are easy to recover)

long story short it deleted a truecrypt ".file" container, anyone know of any software that can recover it? files not been over written so should be pretty simple

Windows 7 64bit and the file i want back is 50GB

There should be a lot of software to recover deleted files. Just Google around for them.

i usually use this bit it dosnt like the .file extension, running a deep scan with it now see if it throws anything up

Recuva shouldn't care what the file extension is, I've used it recover all sorts of stuff.

iv used it for alsorts, not sure if it dosnt like the .file extension or the massive 50GB size but its not showing under quick scan

Handy Recovery and GetDataBack, these two "saved my life" a few times.

You can also try TestDisk and PhotoRec, although I haven't see .file in the list of file types to search in PhotoRec.

I looked around a bit to see what might help you.  Appears that files over 4gb are difficult to recover.  Two programs (reported) that seem to be up to the challenge are:

Make sure you ghost an image before trying out either of these (or other) tools.  Then you can experiment on the copied image.

well found out why its so hard to recover truecrypt files.

a normal file has a signature at the start and end turns out truecrypt files are random from the very start to the very end (makes it almost impossible to recover even if its just been deleted, unless you know where the start and end is)

luckily im the lazy type and its a copy of another truecrypt file so its the same random mess of numbers for the start and end  which means using r-studio i can now run a custom scan and find the start and end of the file do i know where it is and can recover it.

Are you using windows?
Do you have file history enabled?

If you are using windows with file/folder(confused with the names) history enabled, windows should automatically keep a copy of the folder. If the file that you deleted is in a folder. Right click the folder and click properties. You should see a tab labeled 'previous versions'. Click it, if you have enable file history you should see some backups of the folder. Now browse through the backups and and restore to a date and time before you accidentally deleted the file.

Hey, glad you found a answer and reported back.  Now hopefully you can actually recover the file.  Regarding the tip....much appreciated....but go ahead and pay it forward!  I am just glad it helped you a bit.

I reformat my desktop, but  forgot to backup the files at local disk., there is some important files to my work.. can you help me to solve or some advise to recover?

You can bring them to a recovery service. Just do not use that computer for the time being. When your file is "deleted", it is only marked as deleted, not actually destroyed. It is just left there to be overidden. So if you use your computer, your computer could overwrite the stuff. The larger the file, the higher chance of getting overridden.
