Post by: Marekkon5 on June 15, 2016, 05:04:29 AM
Hello, I am new here. I have one very old server with this hardware:
2x Intel Xenon CPU , 2x2.4ghz, 2x16 Cores
48 GB Ram
Windows 7
No GPU

What altcoins can I mine on this? Will be any profitable? Thank you.

You can mine some CPU coins but it's will NOT PROFITABLE for sure...
Since CPU coins are not profitable at all.
Better do oother stuff with this. You can run NODES or try to use it like a VPS or VPN or domain host.

For me the best if You will run some GAME HOST like minecraft or something like this. If You are interested I'm planing to open a 2x HURTWORLD servers custom rates with VIP ( donation ) it's quie popular game and easy to make some money.

With CPU you can Mine nothing, if you really like the idea of mining buy a GPU (380 390, 280x...) and mine ethereum.

If you just want to use the CPU, there is no point of mining. If you have free electricity, you can mine Monero.

Hello,
I was planning to try setup some game host server, do yo have some "idiots guide"?
Can you tell me what are requirements, bandwidth cores, etc?
Also how much you can make per month on this?
Thank you.

Decred ;)

But the Decred price is also dropping. Is that more profitable to mine after the drop of Etheruem price recently?

Stick the server on ebay and buy whatever Bitcoins you can with the money. You will make far more this way than mining.

For the people in high electricity cost places, it is a good advice. it is better to use the money from selling to buy bitcoin.
