Hi all

there is a scammer who is scamming waves

he is using this page to fake an escrow account and a hero member on bitcointalk

this is one of his waves address: 1W3PA4iYBPz3M8zabSyGPdmy4WqvXPYkHWxEQ

he stole 2712 waves from me

Fake Message he sent me:

Ok,

Just had a pm back from monbux and he has agreed to act as Escrow for our trade.

As soon as you recieve payment please pm monbux promptly so I can get the Waves released to my wallet.

That is good that you identified the fake page , good luck!

Man there are scammers all over waves :-\

monbux is the member who is being impersonated.

Where did the chat happen ? Bitcointalk pm's or outside the forum ? Please post the relevant screen shots as it will be easier to understand.
This is not something new,you must always cross verify with the escrow thread or by private messaging them.

I sent the 2712 Waves from my account: 1W3PG4qByu9a89Rjv6xCEFSsBMBVLBJCvkzNQ
I can prove that I am the owner of the account.

He was the recipient just like on the fake page: 1W3PA4iYBPz3M8zabSyGPdmy4WqvXPYkHWxEQ

@OP your screen shot shows a log out button. Did you enter your log in information there? If so your account is compromised now and you should change your password.

They did a great job, good to see that the scammers are stepping up the game.  It takes time for all the old games to run through and there are still many people out there running an old game.  This one is about five years old and I thought that everyone knew about it.  It is amazing how stupid people get when the word escrow gets put out there.  It is just a word and makes the person on the other end of it no more or less special than anyone else, but you will see the dumbasses jump on something the minutes that the word is put out there.
