Already it hit $730.

So is it time to sell? Or you think it will go more higher?

It is depending on you if you want to sell it if your profit is good for you, But i will say that bitcoin  price will still increase as the bitcoin halving happens, it could reach 1100$ maybe,( just my prediction)  If you have much bitcoins, Just dont sell it. Just save it and wait for nextmonth

I agree with you. I sell it if you really need that money man If you don't need it right away set a goal price that you will sell all your bitcoins.

Like few years ago I didn't knew bitcoin had future. But I now believe in it :D

Those who are holding bitcoins bought when it was a shitcoin, their investment will be blown now :D

I am holding it little longer maybe a week or two. I was considering selling it when it reached the 650$ mark but as you see its rising ans rising. I am looking for some 900-1000$ price to sell.

if you ask me i say the price will continue going higher and higher for the foreseeable future and will break the ATH soon.
but to decide whether or not to sell is only up to you and how much you are doing risk management.

p.s. thanks for the link to the price image, it looks a little bit bloated but i was looking for something like this.

Selling would also depend on what your target is. And at what price you bought your bitcons. If you were among the patient ones holding since the price is just $200, that is more than 300% increase and I wouldn't blame any holder if they will sell everything now.

It should be much beter that you are holding it now for a longer time and the halving is also coming and that can be also really nice but of course it is hard to predict.
But if it keeps rising than it will be also better for you because than you can earn more profit with Bitcoin.

Yeah yesterday it touched to $770 and now again it has started to fall back, but those fluctuations won't make any difference as price will again go higher when we approach towards halving.

I do not sell anything that I hold all this time, but I'm just doing a brisk trade, and sell when the price is more than $750 and now price down to $730.
I will still hold until halving happen and I think it was the right time to sell.

Probably the dumbest thing to do is sell now. We're just 4> weeks before the halving and the prices around now are going crazy as expected. Why would you sell your assets in a loss price when you can (probably) sell it to a (supposedly) new ATH?

Yeah. I noticed that too. On my local bitcoin exchange this caused small panic, people were selling like crazy. And bitcoin price was for a moment as low as ~$630
I thought for a moment that full market crash is imminent.

Any more info about why we are seeing this market reversal?

Nothing is guaranteed that what will be the price at the time of halving, I bought when the price was $250 last year so yesterday I sold when it touched to $750 and I am very much satisfied with the profits that I have earned.

If i were you i will not sell my coins right now because i think that the price now is stable because other users too are holding their coins and waiting for the price to reach $1k per piece. So if i were you i will do the same i will sell all my coins if the price reach $900-1k to ensured my profits because i don't expect higher price than that.

imo, not the time to sell. too late since $770 is well past & done.
too early as halving is about 19days away & the pressure is still mounting.
was thinking the price will pass $750~780 during halving but it happened waaay too early! i was too conservative.

i have a few symbolic stashes laying around.
one is to be sold at what i consider halving's high.
one is to be sold at $1000.
one is at $1250 (a tad bit above the previous ath.)
the rest of my btc remains where they are for the foreseeable future.

lets see how many of these will be sold before halving's finished. 8)

All the weak hands in this thread disappoint me.  I'm holding,  if price drops im holding,  price goes up in holding. You shouldn't be spending what you can't afford to lose anyways so why not just hold on and enjoy the ride?  No need to get off.

No one knows what will happens, but my opinion btc price will going up again (maybe it will hit $1000 before halving) , so i think now isn't right time for sell, just hold your btc now. But if you want still sell your btc, i recommend just sell 30% from all your btc with current price of btc now

yeah everyone wants to do it. buy at a low price and selling at a high price. so that they can maximize benefit but sometimes that happens is not in line with expectations. the current high prices and will probably require you to buy if you want to profit because prices will go up

You shouldn't sell, you should just spend. Spending helps the Bitcoin economy, making the price goes up. Selling damages it and it makes the price go down.

Yeah spend bitcoin for some of your needs. I think this is not the apt time to sell your coins as it is expected the price hit high as a result of halving. So hold on to obtain secure profits.

Nothing is wrong and nothing is right. Bitcoin price is dynamic and it is bound to change. This latest price rose till $780 and many people sold of their holdings. That's human nature. They sold it because they have earned a massive profit.

However, one should remember that bitcoin is worth more than even $1000. So many people is holding bitcoin for long time with a hope that it will make their dream come true one day. I am one of them and I have not sold off my holding when the price was $780. I am holding for long term cause I am an optimist.

of course no one can predict surely whether the price is going to increase or is it going to fall, though there are sometimes more posibilities to grow than fall

in my opinion bitcoin price is soon going to grow because people will be buying bitcoins before the halving in order to make some good money out of it, though thats just a guess

It is always a must to sell bitcoin before the price down.  Selling it depends on how much is your target price.  Don't ask other, decide things according to your instinct.  If you see a profit and you are already comfortable with it, I suggest sell it, don't be too greedy. It might make your profit less for price of bitcoin isn't predictable.

Sometimes I think that it is the right time to sell before the halving because after the halving if the price does not increase then it will crash hard. Just checking the charts today we can see that the price today was $700 but crashed to $650 within a short period of time.

Wait till it reaches 900$ thats the right time to sell bitcoin.
For now just hold your bitcoin a little  bit longer.

I think it is not yet the time to sell your BTC. Last time it reaches for about 750$ even though Bitcoin halving is still not to be occurred. Many are keeping their bitcoins now so it can cause the value of the bitcoins to become high. It may rise up to 1000$. Just wait until the first week after havling and then you can sell your Bitcoins.

PS: Urgently sell your bitcoins when it reaches about 100$. Cause a sudden drop may occur.

Well maybe it is wise to hold it while waiting for the next price increase.  But wouldn't it wiser if you use it to produce more Bitcoin to hold for you?  Why not participate in altcoin trading, or some potential ICO?  The risk maybe there but well if you know someone who is good in trading or participating in ICO, why not ride with his investment?  So when time comes, your BTC will probably x2

The risk to being part of ico as you will never know when the pump will occur as well if the pump will happen, sometimes the coin ico ends and nothing happens, after a week someone pump the coin and start dumping, sure they able to make some profit but its a huge risk around ico.
That price should be achieved once again 700 dollars is just a step away.

Yeah holding is better and safe in compare to investing it anywhere and loosing our money as majority of users believe that we will see 4 digit price by the end of the year.

If you are contented on the profit that you will get then sell it. We can't tell how far its price will rise. But if you think its price will go higher than the current price then hold it. Just remember don't be greedy for profit when trading. Just be contented on your profit even if it is not that big. Don't let your emotion get over with you.

The price of the bitcoin will trade within a 20% range, say from $600 to $720. So $10 drop is still within that range.

Yeah not the right time to sell as it is expected that price will go higher in next few months so its better to hold and wait for the price rise and sell when it reaches to a descent level.

There will be no more substantial decrease in price and hence selling your bitcoin today is not necessary if you really don need cash. Bitcoin will increase more every year and having it in your wallet is a good thing. You should invest some of your btc so while waiting for a substantial increase you are also earning.

Bitcoin will increase more every year and having it in your wallet is a good thing. You should invest some of your btc so while waiting for a substantial increase you are also earning.
It's a good idea to hold your Bitcoins if you aren't in a desperate need of money. The bitcoin value is slowing rising up and frequently fluctuation up and down so, I don't it's a good time to sell your Bitcoins currently.

bitcoin price is not yet at a point to consider selling, because it still is rising slowly and besides the halving rise has not yet happened, so there is that in the future to look forward to. also with the Turkish people investing in bitcoin because of their country state i am sure there will be another rise soon.

It would not be smart to leave an industry coming up that quickly.

I think it is perfect time to keep holding and buying all cheap bitcoin because support at this price is strong and its been few weeks we have seen this price range. And also after recent halving already mining has become not profitable anymore, so rise in some profitable price is expected but may take few more months.

If all you care about is fiat currency then by all means sell your BTC. If you want to actually join in the revolution then SPEND your coins and never sell again.

That is what I have done in the past. When the bitcoin price is low, I bought the coin, when the price is high, I spend the coin.

No Bro Don't Sell Your Coins Now Because The Price of Bitcoins is Low Now and It Has Chances of Growing More in Future....
So Just Hold Bitcoins and I Also Suggest you that Also Hold some Promising Altcoins Because Altcoins also Gives You Profit but Not Guarantee Of the Price.......

i doubt two major exchange will be hacked one after another, it never happened in the past, and it would be very unlucky, the price will recover quickly don't worry about it, another week or two or a month at worse and the previous value will not be a dream anymore

If you are doing margin trading, anytime will be good to buy/sell. However, if you are into long-term bitcoin investment, any time now if not a good time to sell- it's actually good time to buy.

At the end the year the price usually gets a bit bigger, i believe is because people wanna shop soo they pump bitcoin around 50-100 dollars, but well i really believe this year we will close at 700 dollars, and next year we got already some good news to bitcoin, the owner of megaupload is coming and brings a project related to bitcoin.

If you are an investor then you should decide your strategy of your own but if are a technology enthusiastic (like me), well wisher of bitcoin and really interested in this technology then you should spend bitcoins rather than selling (because you will get same benefit as that of fiat). Now, while talking about speculation, I think bitcoin is undervalued at the moment and it will hit minimum $1,000 mark soon in the future, so through investors point of view I think you should hold it.

If I were you I will still wait for its price to goes up.  It could goes up as I believe that bitcoin has the ability.  You do not want to regret one day that you already sold your bitcoin when it reaches 1k.  Just sell some of your bitcoins and keep the half of it as we do not know what will happen to its price.

If you feel like it is time to already reach its price peak then maybe you would sell it.But there were instances that it will grow and rise. But the sad part is there were chances, that after a rise there were a huge fall if you still wait.

Bitcoin is said to be very volatile. It is liable to change rapidly and unpredictably. So notice when the price of bitcoin is keep on increasing, then we all know that there will be a tendency that it might go down any minute but it doesn't mean that you have to sell your bitcoins but instead buy more if you want and keep it for a long time. If bitcoin price become less you have nothing to be worry about, its only temporary, It will definitely go up high again. Just keep holding on.

Yes i agree, todays bitcoim price is at $8k- $9k it is not yet high as we all wanted. Lets just first hold our bitcoins until the price if you think is high. It is also true that if already need the money, well you dont have choice but to sell it for you to provide something that is important. But as of now if you can still wait then lets just wait and support more on bitcoin and believe that down tick will not happen.

Actually mate, it will.depends on our own set targeted amount as we try to expect further more value that we wishing for. As time passes by bitcoin can't predict which will change time to time. Many people gets involved in bitcoin as they are hoping to have a great amount of profit as they invested. Also, it needs patience to wait for the long period of time as it will be intended for the long term investment and hold it as much as possible.

Apparently, this whole topic is already outdated, because bitcoin after growth has long been replaced by a sharp fall. The price for bitcoin is already below 9000 dollars. This is a practical crash for those users who invested their money at inflated prices.

This thread was posted 2 years ago and the situation may not be the same now, but Bitcoin is still truly unpredictable. Despite the urge to sell during a price peak as to assure return of investment, users should be aware that this would contribute to the decline in price of Bitcoin sooner or later. I am not sure of the reason of the recent decline in Bitcoin prices but in order to reach that peak we should continue to support Bitcoin and hold. Before selling, make sure that the price is at a somewhat stable (well I know Bitcoin is not stable but you know what I mean) state because you might never know, it might rich a higher price. So for now, let's all be patient in awaiting for its price to bounce back.

Wait for the market value to be a bit stable. That's the right time to sell but if the market value of Bitcoin moves a lot, continue holding and avoid selling in order for you to earn bigger profit. Same thing should be done whenever the market price of Bitcoin is falling. But if that's the case, invest more money into Bitcoin because the bigger your investment, the larger your profit will be.

This thread is interesting because the price of Bitcoin today is more than 10 times higher than when OP was asking is it time to sell at $730. Now it seems impossible that the price can be over $70k in two years, but look at the OP, read the replies like this one for example:

I am holding it little longer maybe a week or two. I was considering selling it when it reached the 650$ mark but as you see its rising ans rising. I am looking for some 900-1000$ price to sell.

and make your conclusions. Sometimes those old threads are interesting to read from today's perspective.

Sometimes those old threads are interesting to read from today's perspective.
it's really that these conversations only stirs up the appetite, because the envy is taking its to the fact that some people in 2016 bought Bitcoin for $ 500. And today they have a huge fortune, because Bitcoin still showed its maximum growth.

This is a great reminder that where bitcoin is now is still doing well and we really need to appreciate the current state.  I have been following price action since 2016 and I think the type of growth we have in 2017 especially towards the end of the year was abnormal and corrections has to happen in other for price to reset for another movements. Bitcoin was in bullish momentum even up till now on the monthly and yearly chart.

I personally don't think the "correction" speculations have sense. How can we know that the price of $20k was actually exaggerated? And who can say what is the "actual" price of Bitcoin today? Do you know that 100 bitcoin addresses hold around 20% percent of all the BTC issued? Can you imagine how much is that? Right, big money when exchanged on USD. And those people try to sell as much as they can every time the price goes significantly up. And that's it. That's why the price goes down. It has nothing to do with the so called "correction".

Judging by your statement, there is a riot in the community of crypto-currencies, because he does not believe that Bitcoin will not settle even at a price of $ 45,000. But other skeptics say that $ 20,000 is very much exaggerated the price of Bitcoin. Well, what is the real price for Bitcoin to be and will be? Apparently no one will give this answer. Therefore, there are a lot of doubts about the consistency and prospects for the future.

If you mean there is no agreement in the Bitcoin community on what price should be at any given time period then you are right, there is no such agreement. And that is actually a very good thing, because that is how the whole crypto economy differs from a state controlled economy, where the state regulates prices and currency rates. Since we can't rely on fairness of any government it is much better when the free market dictates the prices.

We all are here because we wanted some kind of financial freedom from our systems and bitcoin along with other crypto coins has provided us with this blessing. We don’t need to agree upon any specific price for bitcoin because then there will be no difference in regular conventional currencies and bitcoin. Nobody wants bitcoin to follow rules and regulations because it kills thrill from the market and interest of investors as well.

Because of good news from USA about bitcoin , price start slowly increasing. But I don't think that you should sell it now , only reason for selling today is that you really need money. Bitcoin will rise again if not sooner, at then end of year for sure and people who hold will get more profit then people who sell now at $9000.

Already it hit $730.

So is it time to sell? Or you think it will go more higher?
In selling bitcoins, its your decision to made.If you find the price ok and its already the time for you to sell.If the price still grows up, just be thankful that you have the best price, because for some cases, sellers try to hold their bitcoins for a very long time until the price falls. But just what i have said, its your own decision to make.
