I will like to know how I can make my confirmations on blockchain faster.  Yesterday , I waited for close to 5hrs to get one confirmation.
That's really annoying . is there a way to the confirmation in a few mins? Say 10mins or less.
Also, how do i send more bits to add up to fees

The more fee you pay the faster it will go, so if you want to go faster pay an higher fee. I have never had a problem with Bitcoin Core's recommended fee.

In the future it will be faster with Lightning protocol. Onchain transactions in a decentralized network require resources so you have to pay for it.

The only way is to include a slightly higher fee than the normal fee.

I think at the moment a normal Tx fee is about 100 bits. If you can include a 200-500bits fee that should increase the priority of your Tx and get included in a block faster.

No. There is no such thing called a standard fee, default fee or whatever some members are trying to tell you. What 'truly' [1] matters here is the satoshis/byte included at the time and the current recommended one. The recommended fee can be found here (https://bitcoinfees.21.co/). This means that a transaction fee (X) might be enough for transaction A, but it might be inadequate for transaction B (due to differentiating sizes).

You can try to make an appropriate fee because yesterday a lot of people it does not give an appropriate fee and this can make their transaction it's not confirmed or got a delay.

I do not know if you can do fast your confirmation because the moderators validate all the securities of your transaction thats why give some patience in all you transaction online not only in bitcoin.

There's a very limited number of transactions that can be included in a block, if you pay high enough fee maybe your transaction will be included in the next block.

Currently, there is very little you can do. You can remove your transaction so your wallet does not rebroadcast it anymore and wait for miners to remove your transaction from their mempool before you send again with the same inputs and higher fee, but this should take over one day before miners remove your transaction from their mempool so it is not considered doublespend.

RBF (replace by fee) transaction could work, but no wallet implemented it so far. And child pays for parent method where you spend unconfirmed transaction with higher fee does not work as well, as very few miners look for these fees.

you can't make them faster but you can make them have better priority, better position in the queue, just pay more fee

It's seems that at the moment, there's no other way but to pay a premium if you want your transactions to be ahead of the queue. It would be nice if they could even cut the time in half. That would really help increase the number of transactions. Just send it with a higher fee. Normally confirmations on blockchain won't take that long unless the blokchain is busy, if that happens, you can't reall do anything about it but to wait.

Technically, you can. Most nodes don't usually relay or place the transactions into their mempool if the transaction is in their mempool UNLESS the original transaction had opt-in RBF enabled. This makes double spending significantly harder. Miners accepting them into their own mempool is another thing.

There is no such thing as 'pay a premium' now. The system has always worked like this. The amount of fees included will determine your priority. All those people that complained about their transactions not confirming have used the wrong fee setting.

As my experience in sending and receiving bitcoin default fee is enough you don't need to increase the fee its the same result.. the transaction is always depends in miners if they can confirm it fast or not..
But don't reduce your miners fee to below default because it can reduce the speed of your transaction..
Also i tried  sending bitcoin in the same company like electrum to electrum wallet the speed is fast than sending outside like electrum to coinbase or electrum to xapo.. it takes a long time for me..

I am using Electrum desktop wallet and it has an automatic feature it already chooses the best dynamic fee for the transaction I am sending, usually the time of 1 confirmation for me by using this wallet is 10-30 minutes maximum, same with Multibit, but I think web wallets should be a problem in this regard, I know XAPO pay their users fee so XAPO transactions take longer, same should be with blockchain.info. Anyway if you stick to Electrum for example you will have relatively very fast transactions in 10-30 minute time 99.99% of the time.

No. The transaction speed is the same regardless of the fee included. You are talking about confirmation speed.

Nonsense. The same amount of time is required regardless of whether you're sending from Electrum to Electrum, Electrum to Core or whatever. The difference there is that some of those services require multiple confirmations before they update your balance (e.g. Bitstamp requires 3).

I also have the same problem nowadays, the confirmations are taking much longer time, some people are saying that it is because we pay less fees, but in xapo there is no any option for transaction fee.

Welcome to the major problem of bitcoin, my friend: the limitation of transactions per second. For more than Blockchain Bitcoin network will prove to be safe, you can not process many transactions per second.

The best solution for your case will be paying higher rates. In theory, the higher the fees are paid, your transaction will have higher priority over the network.

Priority is based on the age of the inputs and the number of inputs. So if your output is made up of loads of small inputs, and the result is a big kilobyte transaction, you are going to struggle.

People need to enable coin control, and only send the oldest coins. That way their priority increases.

IF your bitcoin wallet has the option to add transaction fee. Pay a big transaction Fee and your confirmation will be faster. But some wallet like coins.ph doesnt have that option.

Stop using online wallets or talk to the Xapo support staff and let them know that they're improperly calculating their fees.

man you cannot make it faster you just have to wait before it goes to you wallet and maybe there are many confirmations or transactions on the blockchain but if your Transaction has a big amount it can be go to faster the lower your transaction amount the slower it will be .

I think you should adjust your fee in the transaction you eant fast i think if you increase your fee.it is fastest than your ltest transaction.
But i dont know how to do that if your using otber site like coinbase haha i didnt know how to adjust so my transaction is not to fast like other sender.

I think 0.005 is a little too much for tx fees even with a 0.0005 fees you get a significant faster confirmation, if the input is not high 0.0005 should be sufficient for a faster confirmation.

Wrong. Please stop spreading false information. A flat fee is not the right answer. The queue determines priority based on the included satoshis/byte ratio. This means that this flat fee might be enough for transaction A, too much for transaction B, too little for transaction C (due to differentiating sizes).

Transaction speed has never changed. It has remained constant (near-instant, i.e. 1-3 seconds under reasonable conditions). You're talking about confirmation time.

Of course it's not about luck. There's a series of algorithm followed in having a prioritized transaction over another.
Tx fees, number of inputs, coin age, these are just some of the factors that are looked at whether which among the transactions are prioritized.

I think the thing that affects of confirmation was blocked because of mining, mining block is indeed the Foundation of any transaction which is in bitcoin. In mining every block always confirm that the transaction is done right or wrong and the miners will confirm. so it depends on the research process and confirmation is done in block

I guess if you want to send money to the confirmation prompt, then you may have to send bitoin with small nominal, because in my experience, a large amount of the transaction would create very long confirmation

Yes and to those who do not know even if you use blockchain there is a option to send transactions with custom fees, which enables quick confirmations, actually sending with high fees usually ensures that your transaction will be included into next block hopefully.

The fees aren't the only factor for a faster transaction.
The age of the coin is also considered, plus the size of the transaction too. And I agree "transaction size" and "fees included" are directly connected.

i think if you want to make your transactions really fast then just include a bigger miners fee, for example in the blovkvhain.info wallet when you adjust the fees you can see the estimated confirmation time

But for me, the fees give a big effect for the transaction, ok I sure with your statement if the fees aren't only the factor for a faster transaction but maybe there is another factor can make a faster transaction. but the fees giving the biggest contribution to pulling the transaction is getting fast.

You are right, and we can only do one thing from our side to fasten the confirmation time. That is to increase the fees and sometimes using the recommended fees. Though I think even if you pay .0001 then it gets confirmed quickly.

Hahaha that was funny, see the transactions have increased and hence it is taking more time to confirm the same transaction that earlier used to get confirmed much quicker. So, just a little extra fees and things are fine.

And even if you have paid .0001 like I do and sometimes even less then there is no problem too, just it takes maximum one hour to get confirmations. Why is waiting 10-20 minutes or sometimes 1 hour is a problem for you guys ? I plan up my payments well advance, so there is no hurry for me for quicker confirmations.

If you pay more fee then you will get the confirmations faster, but sometimes it will also take time because of crowd transactions, as one time I paid a good fees but even in that i waited for more than 2 hours to get first confirmation.

as i know,blockchain put different fee on different transaction speed,i think its what you need,you need to open blockchian wallet and put highest fee for faster transaction ;D

I just want to suggest to use Xapo wallet as they send many transactions at once and do not take any fees from you, so that helps in building big fees for a big transaction hence confirming it in seconds ( when next block gets mined ) in all the time I experienced with Xapo wallet.

Now a days I never worry for tx fees and for quicker confirmations too as I am using Xapo.

To make your transactions faster on blockchain, you'll need to place a larger fee. Well for me, transaction time is not a problem. Even though I am only putting a small amount of fee. Usually 10K sats. It has 3 confirmations in just half an hour. So I do not need to have a larger fee. Maybe im just lucky that they confirms my transactions very fast. or maybe my transactions was not that high that they can confirm it as soon as possible. To be honest, my average transaction is 0.01 BTC. Not that much.

I sometimes send with a 12 sat/bit and it gets confirmed in a few minutes, and sometimes with a 60 sat/bit it takes hours to confirm, it also depends on the status of the network and if there is a lot of transactions waiting to be confirmed and if they paid more fee than you or not.

Whenever I send money using blockchain.info web interface my tx is unconfirmed for a while, but when I get money from 3rd party websites, say virvox, tx gets like 30 confs in 2-3 hrs WTF?

What did you tried? Increasing the fee? You can actually changed the tx fee on advanced and that's all you have to do if you do like faster confirmations then better to pay up higher tx fee but if not then stick only to standard fee but expected waiting times would be more longer compared on higher tx fee.

1. Use higher fee, to get a tx confimed you need a mining pool to confim it and normally they confirm tx with higher fee ("bounty" from the view of the pool) first.

Everyone here is advising to send coins with higher fees. But can anybody explain how do I increase the amount of fee if I want to send coins from exchanges like Poloniex, Bittrex etc. where the fees are automatically decided & there is no option to change the fees manually even in the setting menu? ??? ???

Exchanges usually pay appropriate fee. You don't need to worry!

If you are using exchanges or online wallets, I highly recommend you to use offline wallets. There are a few online wallets which are "okay", but use them at your own risk! You *won't* have full control over your bitcoins!

Assuming you are consolidating your addresses with Bitcoin on them to minimize Inputs the only thing you can do is increase the miner fee.

if you're using blockchain wallet..when sending use advanced option..it will allow you to set your own fee...search for how to calculate bitcoin transaction fees..you will find the recommend fee dependent on the byte size of your transfer..don't be stingy or you will be waiting and waiting and waiting.

Thats it, just put a lot of fees to make transaction faster that is the solution on that problem, that is why me i avoid using blockchain wallet for now because of that i used the wallet in some faucet to received and send fund to my main wallet because of low fees and quick confirmation of transaction. Just try it and prove it by your self but just choose the faucet that not scam.
