As the title do you think guys many people here are experienced scam or all members of this forum except newbie and jr.member experience scam by investment site or cloud mining or any other services?

Yeah it is highly likely to experience scam at some point.
If not cloud mining, scam coins than faucets and p2p scam.
Probably everyone will stumble upon some fishy thing on their path.
That's just how it is with people, quick bucks, unreal promises can and will elude you at some point.
I'm still pretty naive if its about faucets. Not a big risk, only time to loose.
Either way, its always a bit infuriating to be cheated, even if nothing is lost.

I think everyone who tried to do business online have a story to tell about being scammed at one point of their online life and I'm not an exception to that but the amount of money that was scammed to me is not big enough so that means I can still sleep at night. I was one of those who got scammed by this Sergey Mavrodi's MMM it's just $18. They changed their rules almost every month to a point where you will not be able to withdraw your investment. Lesson learned.

i think not, i never been scammed, not even once, don't deal with newbie without escrow

Of course not . I personally never got scammed before , It's pretty simple to avoid scams but sometimes people overtrust the "reputation" or "trust" in the forums and don't deal using Middleman/Escrows which leads them to get scammed.
As for Cloud mining , I came a little bit late to the bitcoin community and I suppose that was an advantage for me (because I saw how untrustworthy cloud mining companies could be) so I never enrolled in them. I also follow some rules that I never break

• I don't keep my funds in exchanges or gambling websites
• I don't use wallets that don't give me control over my private keys (like Coinbase for example)
• I don't download "Bitcoin generators" executables (If you know what I mean).
• I don't use exchange with .biz , .xyz domains or bad design or that have no reputation on web.

Most member, provably but I won't say everyone has experienced to be scam. Some people are more cautious than others when it comes to money  so I don't think they make make or do something that will put their money on risk which may result for their money of gettin lost.

I wouldn't say all members here would have experienced being scammed before but i know that too many have been. There wouldn't be a scam accusation board here if scamming was mot so wide spread in the bitcoin community.

Bitcoin being an non reversible currency makes it very appealing to a thief so there will always be scams around it.
It goes with having full control of you finances, most people have become quite relaxed about the bank cash security because everyone thinks that if it is lost then it's always the banks fault and you will get your money back, trust me it's not that easy with all the hoops they make you jump through.

I agree that not all here, but what's for sure is most of the members experienced being scammed. Even newbies and jr.members that have known bitcoin longer before joining this forum. Well especially those who wants easy money, who always wanted to take high risk on doubler, hyips, cloud mining.

yes it is possible that all member have already experienced a scams they are also once a newbie and others are actually a risk takers that are risking their money whether it is gambling or hyips . i am also a victim of a scam and i experienced it so many times .

In my opinion, a lot of people have experienced being scammed in this forum in one form or another.  I hang out at the altcoin section a lot and have seen the people there seem edgy and quick to become hostile the minute you mention or ask about some new platform or project.

I think it's because they have been scammed again and again until they got disillusioned and ended up holding lots of useless coins.  At least that's my take on it.

Yup.because all here exposed in bitcoin so many opportunity that we will try and we failed to reach it. Many investment that we invested many scammers scam newbie. I dont think if theres a people here didnt try to get scammed by hyip. Cloudmining site also scam me because my friend thinks that the site is legit but we try to.invest and didnt get any payout.

Based on how cynical or outright paranoid people here are, I'd say a majority of them have been scammed.  I have been, once.  And even if you haven't,  some of the attempts here are so obvious that they can't be missed.   

i guess yes because majority people here will very sensitive if talking about ponzi or HYIP and they will tell that all those investment are scam and i think because they have bad experience from it in the past and they will attack for those who promote new cloud mining or HYIP with scam words many times

I think an extremely large amount of people on this site have been scammed, as we have all been in a similar position when we joined, new, slightly unsure and eager to earn fast easy money with huge value on a site we haven't been on before
Looking at the other people in the forums, the paranoia and distrust of some other users i'd say it's a safe bet, and even if they haven't been scammed some stuff is just too obvious to miss, showing you that this stuff is out there and it's ability to take your money is based on your own instincts, so, yeah

I think most of us have been scammed or have scammed someone else. I belong to the first category :/

I think most is getting scam coz i'm being scammed too.many people here in furom getting scam.

same goes to me, i was got scammed too. But for @OP, im not sure if all of people on here ever got scammed, but mostly yes. Just make sure if you will do transaction with other people always using escrow service for avoid getting scammed.

No I do not think we all have experienced it but the most have some experience or know something is scam.
These days scammers are becoming smarter but people that are looking if something is scam also are getting smarter so that is a good thing.

Well I have experienced a scam but not with Bitcoin. I was trading some of my steam items for paypal and I went first. I sent the guy the items and he didn't send the paypal. :(

Haven't been scammed before myself. In reality if you use a lot of common sense and don't overly trust people by default, you're unlikely to ever get scammed unless you're quite unlucky, even if you do go first to some people when you're buying or selling (which I still do quite often, and never get scammed). You just need to actually have some vigilance about who the person you're trading with is.

Yeah that is what happened to me. I trusted the person I was trading with too much and then I ended up getting scammed. Just use common sense and trust no one, that is the best way to not get scammed.

I can happily say that I have never fallen for a scam.

I am not a fan of investing my coins into a certain site or service where you are promised a certain return per week or month.

Just using common sense will help you to avoid being scammed here or anywhere else.

And when it comes to making deals on this forum (haven't done any yet), I would only work with really trusted escrows from the level of OgNasty.

I've been scammed twice on this forum and it's not that I did not use escrow but I accepted the payment first. It's mainly because I used payment processors like Payza and Citrus that reverse payments if anyone opens a dispute/the funds are fraudulently taken from other accounts by the sender. It's hard to even trace the source of funds being sent to you and hence I stopped dealing with processors/users that I can trust.

I believe that since BTC is an irreversible payment method, all members must have experienced a scam attempt or must have been scammed and there needs to be atleast a section in this forum where reputed/verified members should be able to trade (I know it may be an issue for many but atleast it would be helpful for those members who are genuine and reliable and feel safe to trade here).

Yes, most of the members above from jr. member has experienced with scam just from this forum due to different services like hypis, cloud minings and also from some exchange services too talking about my self just few years ago I got scammed by hashie.co badly :(

Anyone who knows my history knows I fall for things from time to time, I normally like to think I am wise to it now, but the scams are getting harder to detect. (in some cases, others are just getting worse)

I see Bitcoin as a payment method, and not a get rich quick method, or as an income source. If you are stupid enough to believe most of the claims in the sig campaigns here, then you deserve to lose your money.

I am pretty sure that everyone visiting frequently investor-based games and services had experienced a sort of scam, i was scammed too but didn't deposit too much..few k of satoshis many months ago

No. I have never lost a Satoshi. Frankly, the people who I see lose their money here are often meeting the scammers half way.  Just follow a few basic rules and you will be fine.


1. Never "invest" in anything here. I would only consider investing in a licensed and registered business with a business plan and a lawyer for my lawyer to deal with.  If they are not a licensed business then they are not a business.

2. Never loan coins. The only exception for me is a "secured" loan. I would need to hold a car title or the deed to a house, something I could sell for more than the loan principal.

3. Don't get side tracked with crap like alt-coins. First finish your degree in cryptography, then you will see why bitcoin is what you want.

4. Trust no one with your coins or private keys. Trusting no one is at the very core of Bitcoin.
