Title: full node
Post by: goddog on June 18, 2016, 04:35:21 AM
I'm back to bitcoin,
may I run a full node on my pc? I have not so many bandwith(1mbps) but I have a lot of free storage.
I think I will open my bitcoin-qt client 1 day each week

It takes a long time to sync it initially. At 1 day per week, it would take you months to sync it in the first place :P That is, if you ever catch up. You wouldn't really be running a full node anyways. It's probably best if you do not bother with full verification.

I'd say its probably better if he dosnt bother, the amount he will be taking off the network will be more than he gives back so its just bogging down the big nodes and taking up 8 spaces on the network

look at some node stats like this (http://213.165.91.169/) (that's shorena's.). it's a good way to know how much bandwidth you'll be using. if your upload speed is around 400~500KB/s then you're good to go.
