Title: How many coins did you have during the rise?
Post by: surfnetworking on June 18, 2016, 05:46:11 PM
During the 2013/2014 rise to nearly $1,400/coin, how many bitcoins did you have?

And do you regret not selling if you didn't?

To be honest I was not the part of  bitcoin community at that time, I entered the world of bitcoin in 2015 but I have collected good number of coins till date which can benefit me at the halving.

I too was not the part of  bitcoin community at that time, I entered the world of bitcoin just this february 2016 but I have collected some enough for me to profit in this halving.

I also entered bitcoin world this year in Feb 2016 and till yet i have managed to make 1 BTC only. I have not purchased any bitcoins. Just offered my services in bitcoins. and now i am happy to see the price rise upto 750$.

I didn't know about bitcoin yet way back those times when its price is as high as that. I only got involved in bitcoin on the late 2014 and that were the time when the price dropped to near $200 . :D
Now I also don't have any coins and it sucks having nothing to hold while watching the price rise.

I regret that I didn't start commenting here and join some campaign that time when I just heard about it. It was about a year ago and bitcoin was like 320$. Now I would be in higher rank for sure and would make good money with a campaign.

I also never came into bitcoin at that point although i had heard of it. had i actually gotten serious about bitcoin back then it would not have been so great though since id probably only have o.1 bitcoin from buying right at the top. This would take my bitcoin average through the roof and make getting a profit pretty difficult unless the price moons during this halving.

I didn't experience holding bitcoin in that particular time because I entered in bitcoin world last December 2015, though I already heard that the bitcoin price reach more than $1000 so if it reach that high why not again especially this coming halving. And it is regrettable that I only know about bitcoin just last year, if i knew this forum before maybe now I'm a hero or a legendary member and I earn a lot from this community with bitcoin.

Me to i dont experience holding bitcoins for long time because i am able to cash out my btc on weekly basis and thats the main reason why im holding only low amount with it and theirs no really doubt for my side since i used it for good, and all i want to see for now is to continously pump the price of bitcoin untill july so we can still get big profit for its big price,

Same here at that time I was very new to the bitcoin, and was not sure where bitcoin will land in future, so I was not giving much more time to bitcoin and I think that was a major mistake.

we have a likely same situation, I am newbie too the time price goes up, and I dont really know what to do with that. The good thing I made is trade it and I profit like $10 that time.

At that time i didn't trusted bitcoin much and didn't have any good amount that worth to mention but this time through the halving i believe that the amount is not larger but enough at least for me maybe, the tour will continue and hope all of us will get profit.

unfortunately i was not a part of this great thing called bitcoin :) back then.

i have heard about it but i wasn't sure enough to make any investment so i missed out on a lot of things back then.

p.s. although i don't have personal experience but wherever i look i don't see any price bigger than ~$1140 i don't know where you brought $1400 from!!!

I'm also not knows about bitcoin on that year. It's sad though i'm not part of bitcoin community on that year, because the price is really big and for now, the price is rising, maybe the price can rise up to 1400 same as 2013/2014.

i was not part of bitcoin on those years because i'm not using and buying bitcoin so i won't regret my decision but it doesn't matter for me because most people predict after halving the prices will increase to $1000 above and i think we will met those prices again soon

I can remember slightly that bitcoin is priced more than 1000$ but the news was not that much widespread and i didn't take care about involving into bitcoin. So at that time i even don't have 1 satoshi, it was a news without my interest at that time, when i was busy trying to make profit with Paid to click SCAMS.  ;D

I'll admit it, I had far less coins during the rise than I would have liked, but that hasn't mattered so far because I'm still getting paid the same amount right now as I was before for my signature campaign, so it's almost like I had worked for weeks at the same value and I have something decent to sit back on if it is necessary.

I have something like 0.08 Bitcoin or whatever, I should go and check.

I start with 0,20 btc in 2014 without following forum or other crypto site :) .
I buy through a friend and pay with paypal, but I think it's normally that some coins are exchanged for euro.
Nowadays I don't have those 0,20 :D btc but others coin, and some are "invested" in cryptos or site etc...

That is really a regreting moment when the price dropped from high to low and you must had any other options to do.
Hope this time bitcoin will reach 1200$ + and will sell my coins immediately to avoid any regret later.

I remember buying at $438, about a month ago, but failed to buy a large amount. Had I known that it is going to rise to as high as what it is now (currently at around $750), I could have bought more. But that is life. Nobody can predict whether the price would go up or down or sideways. That's just the way the price behaves and we, small players, have no control over it.

I only have 0.025 bitcoin as of now and i'm working hard to increase that amount by the help of signature campaign and doing some altcoin trading because i think that it's the best time to buy altcoins now because they are getting cheap because of the bitcoin price hike that happening right now.

I think between 15 BTC. I joined in bitcoin after halving occurred several years ago. and I collect bitcoin for 3 years and maybe I've got a range of 15 BTC. maybe if I never sold it and hold it until now. I've become rich now. but unfortunately I've sold everything before pump yesterday :(

Im not sure, maybe nearly 0, because i was started know about bitcoin at june 2014 ( around 2 years ago). But if i have some bitcoin at that time, and i not selling at that time, i wont regret, because maybe the price of btc now  would going up higher than $1400

The amount you are holding is already a decent amount, if the price will increase more you can easily make profit in the short period of time.

With 4 bitcoins bought at 400 dollars you have almost doubled your money when the price went to  770. If you patient you can probably triple that figure if you hold for at least 1/2 years.

well i doubt that it is too big of a mistake, if you will hold long enough then you will manage to make some profit out of it as we will soon break a new all time high price

i think i had something like 1 bitcoin or near that amount i did not sell anything because i always believe that bitcoin price is going to grow a lot in the future, hopefully ill be right

If you hold it for one year or more then you can definitely earn higher profits in future but don't expect that profits from halving, as halving will not show us best price.

You need to have great patience if you want to see bitcoin reaching to the moon, as it is not possible from halving, and to see all time high price we need to wait for long time.

I wasn't into Bitcoin back then. The price was falling at $500 when I first bought in. I don't buy Bitcoins and hold them. Instead what I do is work for them. also, since a lot of my extra income comes in Bitcoin, i rarely hold coins. Bitcoin has a lot of applications, and investments are only one of them.

I don't want to say how many bitcoin I had during the rise to the ATH, but I do not regret at all not selling any of them. I was/am thankful that I happened to have taken my bitcoins off MtGox before that debacle occurred and screwed so many people over.

That's the same time i decided to step in and 'joined' bitcoin. Haven't seen much of this kind of hype to be honest Going from 200 to 1200 in matters of weeks must be exciting.
Hope that we will see it too one day. But not counting on it. I guess we have to do it with steady rises, which is fine with me ;)

Definitely, do not let this opportunity slip away because this does not happen all the time, if you have and extra money for now you should prioritize buying bitcoin now over the other investment. Always remember that bitcoin is  a good asset that will appreciate its value in the future.

yeah this can be the right time to see the price of bitcoin to be below $600, it has the potential to grow fast, who knows again it can reach high peaks hitting $1000 by the end of this year.

i think i had a good amount of bitcoin when the price of bitcoin was raising but still i have these bitcoin i not sell it in the previous days while people were really doing panic selling lost a lot  of money with spreading news about he news about the bitfinex. now the price of bitcoin is raising again and hope that this time it is going to cross the 1000 USD level easily.

I think the effect of the Bitfinex hack will die down very soon. The hacker will be caught and the price will rise.

Sadly, I was not into Bitcoin then. I found out about that big rise recently and I regret not being there when the rise was happening. For a moment I though you were talking about the recent rise to around 700$ but I guess that it is nothig comparing that one. I would totally farm a big load of Bitcoins if I were into it then.

I am having a total of BTC0.01 in my wallet, which was earned from sig campaigns. I want more, but I am too lazy to post here. Hopefully by the next block reward halving (2020?), I'll be having one full BTC in my wallet.

You need 4 years to earn 1 btc, that's strange..if you get active then you can earn that amount in a month, but for that you need to make efforts and don't be lazy in earning money.

I had heard about BTC but I was not too keen about BTC at the time. and this time I had a really serious back neighbor BTC although it was not so great just to have 0.1 BTC . This will take me bitcoin average through the roof and make enough profit difficult unless subs half price this month

Buying is not really recommended in this forum because it is a sign of shadiness, however if you really want to make money then do not focus on signature campaign, try trading or do a job that pays well compared to signature campaign.

I was not yet into bitcoins when its price reached $1400 about two years ago. Only got to really understand about it around April this year when a friend who is into gambling introduced me on an exchange site where I could buy. Right now, I have a little less than 0.4 in total, which I got from signature campaign earnings and from the time that I started to buy when the price was still at around $400.

I wish, I could get in bitcoin little bit earlier.  Actually I was in domain reselling business (and still I am in that) and while researching for trending topics and developments, I came across bitcoin and crypto currencies. Although I bought few domains and sold with good profit (I never bought bitcoins or any other crypto currency till a domain sale on this forum). I was not in the scenario of 2013-14 rise but I am sure, we are still in bus and there is a long journey for bitcoin.

F-ing zero.  I think that's just about the time I first really became aware of bitcoin, when it was starting to get mainstream press.   And at that point I thought it was scam internet money, like the Flooz that whoopie goldberg promoted back in 1999 or so.  But that's OK because I'm sure I would have lost tons of money had I bought in then.

Only in 2015 did I lay my skepticism to rest and buy in.  I can't imagine what the topics are going to be like here in another 5 years.

What happen to your bitcoins, why it decreased? I think the value of bitcoins will only decrease or increase. If you were able your bitcoins then you could already enjoy the value of what you are holding now, the price is really good compared to the past years after the major fall back from $1,200.

I think it was taken from gambling because in trading it is hard to make that kind of profit. Between the two you mentioned, I would prefer trading because it gives me more knowledge that I could use upon doing it to be more experienced and expert in the future.

I had a few but i sold out way early @ like $200 on the way up and then rebought @ like $400.  Then sold again @ $600 bought again @ $900 etc etc etc.  In the end it was months and months of crappy trading and i lost money on it.  Also many people had funds in mtgox at this time so only a few got the real gains out the rise.

Just let go of the past man, we cannot go back to that time and that is already 3 years so we should have move on already. Honestly, if we will just be positive we can see that there are still more opportunity even in the current time.

Lots of people missed that chance of that big bitcoin rise... lots of people had nothing that time.
the reason of that because bitcoin was not that much adopted among the people. lots of people didn't started trusting bitcoin (almost 80% of current bitcoin users started bitcoin after that big rise)

NONE! I got into bitcoin around the end of 2014. And it was probably the worst time for me.

The price to buy was so high. Urgh. I get nervous just remembering it. I was new, and the dilemma of, should I try it,

should I buy now, it's so expensive, it could go even higher. wew. Still, even though I didn't have any to sell during that high,

still managed to make a bit of profit. Glad I didn't back out then.

sigh. If only I came earlier. Missed the good buy period by a few months. Still, more chances will come anyway.

Even at 300 dollar price I thought it was way too high that is why I didnt buy any. So what is another option. Try earning it. But it is way too low for the payment before you can reach a single bitcoin.
So no better choice but to just buy little every payroll.  ;D

First of all Bitcoin was never worth $1400 - All Time High price of BTC is $1242 and it happened exactly November 29th 2013.
That time for the first time - and the last Bitcon reached gold parity.

Unfortunately I was not owning any BTC at that point, but that price surge was a reason I learned about bitcoin in the first place.

Actually i came in Bitcoin world later, in the end of 2015, before it i really don't know about bitcoin, But my entry was late but i think i came on a right time, because in the start of 2016 bitcoin was near about $280, than i buy 10 bitcoins, and i earned 2.5 bitcoins so total i have 12.5 bitcoin in that time and before the halving. And Halving really give me good profit.

End of 2015 is much better than end of 2013. It seems that you have made good profit. If you hold long, more profit to come.
but i think end of 2016 will be more better than 2015, as we are expecting that t the end of 2016 we will really make a good profit from gambling.

i am not yet a part of the community at that time but if ever yeah i would surely not regret it because i still was able to earn my amounts and rather save them on banks and rotate some of it. During early months this year bitcoin price was also that low yet i also still convert it to FIAt with no regrets at all by now.

The same thing as mine when the rise happened I am not able to save a lot of bitcoins because I am not so serious about it.

But when realizing that I had miss the chance of getting good profit in my life then it really feel sorry for myself because I made a mistake.

One of the biggest mistake in my life.

at that time I still haven't really got any coin, and I never thought that bitcoin could be that valuable at that time, when the price hit around 1000$ I just join in bitcoin, so I didn't have any chance to enjoy the peak of bitcoin, still hope that part of history can happen again

Actually it is never too late, if they did not predict what happen in the future then there are chance that what will happen in the future is we will see a good price of bitcoin and we can even surpass that $1,000 with the rate bitcoin is going now, we need to believe dude and invest now.

I wasn`t here in that times, I heard for bitcoins only a year or two after the event you are talking about here. That was the times when people could earn a lot with small investments, that times will never come back.
Maybe we can try to search that profit with altcoins, but will there be such jump like bitcoin made it? Probably never, this was unique what happened back then, I regret cause I wasn`t here to earn some money and to just be part of all this.

I just use bitcoin and in 2013/2014 I do not understand with bitcoin. I just joined the bitcoin in 2015 around the month of December. But I've got a very large profits, I have been getting a pretty good income.
I also know bitcoin in 2015 but unfortunately I have not been able to collect more than 10 BTC until this time, it was quite depressing because there are many people who earn huge profits in a short time?

All i know is fiat and have no idea about other kinds of money, it didnt even came to my mind that digital currency as alrernative payment is possible. Late 2013 when i started to collect satoshi. by that time faucets are still generous to give satoshi, one faucet giving me up to 3000 satoshi every hour. The value of bitcoin was lower by that time than our todays value.

Still not valuable when you spend too much time collecting money in faucets. There are legitimate ways to collect and that is to work for a bigger play or invest directly.

You cannot make decision now base on the past because I am pretty sure if that happens in the past it would be a different decision you will be making. Maybe we have to move on and just focus on the present.

I guess nothing will come out in that so I wil just keep as many bitcoin as possible cause I know that after a long years its price will be too greater than now.

regarding to bitcoin supplies which is limited and will eventually running out of its reward for miners i'm definitely agree that the price will be rising in the future. and also when adoption increasing hence affect the market's demand. keeping is good but don't be trapped into everlasting hope of gaining too much profit

A few bitcoins left on my wallet during the rise. Approximately at about 0.005 left on my wallet. I am always using my bitcoins in any investment site so that i can gain more, it was too late for me to discover bitcoins. I discover it early 2015 and that time i cant understand the nature and flow of bitcoins thats why i dont give some focus on bitcoins, if only i knew that bitcoins are good investment, i will buy and keep it on my wallet and wait for the price to increase.

Good thing that you have something on that rise. But with me, I don't even have bitcoins way back that time. I wish I had maybe 20-100 bitcoins by that time and it will make me have enough for starting my own business way back that time. I dont know haha i do have coins in a very small amount, and i think so if theres enough coins to be left. All i have to do is collect more coins and if the time comes again, i will keep it and wait until the price will rise very much. And i dont think if how much time passed between the coins that has a big value as long as i have the a better chance of getting more coins and wait until it will came back.

Well at least you have some satoshis with you during the rise. I dont have even 1 satoshi during that time because i have not started yet on bitcoins. My regret was not buying bitcoins earlier before the rise, my friends have told me to invest on bitcoins but I did not listen so I wasted time then after the rise it was the time I purchase some antminer S5 and my friends helped me how to mine but I did not profit much, if only I purchased bitcoin earlier then I already have a huge amount by now.

Remorse is not something we should continue to remember, we have to keep going forward will be what we aspire to. Remorse will only get us caught up in a world full of nails, so we can't have the spirit to rise up. Forget the past and look to the future for the Betterment of our lives. A better way to think about how we can get a lot of bitcoin and finally our lives for the better, so it's much better than having to regret

If you are talking about the big big rise to 1200 dollars, then I didn't had many, I didn't even had 1 full BTC because it was still very new to me. I wasl ucky to wait until it went to 250 ish to buy more, I spent months buying at 250, so now im ready for when we go 2000+ again which will be in 2017 100% guaranteed at this rate.

Still you have a chance to accumulate bitcoins, the fact that we cannot return to the past, we must face what the current situation brings to us. We can invest still and maybe buy and hold as the price is still rising.

I wish I had been there when the rise occurred. I started bitcoin back in 2016 and at that time also I was not sure about what bitcoin is and understand it or not. The real bitcoin. Stuff started in 2016 year end when the price was already high. But I was lucky enough to grab the 2017 rise that we are experiencing at this very moment. I had a bitcoin on my wallet in January this year and now see the bitcoin is 1900 dollar plus which making me lot of profit  and I'm very happy for that. I think there will be many more opportunities like this so I'm gonna hold bitcoin for a long time.

If I save 0.5btc way back maybe I will earn for about 4btc when its below $500. Anyway, Im still saving and holding a little amount of btc in my wallet.

I think it is a good advice to save some bitcoin and bitcoin cash. I hold both just in case.

Due to the fact that I constantly need to pay bills, I constantly sell Bitcoin without benefit for myself. As soon as I sold, then growth begins. I'm nervous, but there's nothing to be done.

I have .007 bitcoins during rise and its a very small amount of bitcoins i know  ;D But im starting to save some bitcoins right now based on my prediction starting from now price of bitcoins will increase continously.

I actually wished I had come into Bitcoin earlier and I have gathered enough during this time because following what is happening now, its still a period of rise and I am hoping its been kept at that for my sake. For me, I have gathered at most 0.1btc over the last few months I have found my way into this world and couldnt have asked for more.
Still you have a chance to accumulate bitcoins, the fact that we cannot return to the past, we must face what the current situation brings to us. We can invest still and maybe buy and hold as the price is still rising.

The price of bitcoin is still very low now.
WTF :o? Do you think the price of Bitcoin at now still very cheap?  I remember the current price is x4 the base price in early this year, can you tell me the reason make you said "Bitcoin still very low now"?

At that time I have not followed the bitcoin deeper. If at that time I've followed the bitcoin of course at this time I will have a lot of money. So people who are already following bitcoin then they are very lucky people. now my expectation is bitcoin will continue to be liked by everyone so bitcoin value will continue to increase until later. This will greatly benefit all bitcoin users. I'm sure it's everyone's expectations including me. Because I have a very beautiful dream dibitcoin.

I bought 2 btc @$700 last year and I am still holding those coins and have not yet sold and my plan is to hold it till the end of the year as majority of users thinks that price can touch $7k to $8k at that time so for me that would be the best price to sell my bitcoins and take the huge profits from it and right now I don't need money so will try to hold as longer as possible.

During the 2013/2014 rise to nearly $1,400/coin, how many bitcoins did you have?

And do you regret not selling if you didn't?
I don't have any bitcoin that time, and maybe if I do, I think I've already sell it because that time I really need more income. Maybe if I've known bitcoin as early as 2016, I have a lot of bitcoin right now.  :-[
But sadly I don't have one that time.  :'(

I can't remember on what is the exact of bitcoins I have during the rise. But I'm pretty sure of the fact that I am not able to reach 1 bitcoin when that rise happened. And for this months rise, I can say that I have still small amount in my wallet but that is fine because I know in the future with that small amount, I can still get some profit.
It depend how you earn your bitcoin, But i'm still wait when it rise the bitcoin even though I haven't rich my goal in earning bitcoin.

You should throw a party if you have reached your target with bitcoins and enjoy hard. Yep! It is wise to keep bitcoins in your wallets of keep earning them even if you have made enough money with them. Keeping them after that will make you richer and let you spend whole life just by roaming here and there, enjoying every moment.

To be honest I was not the part of  bitcoin community at that time, I entered the world of bitcoin in 2015 but I have collected good number of coins till date which can benefit me at the halving.
Me too, I joined in bitcoin on early 2017, and had a bit profit when the price got high not long time when I joined in bitcoin, but I lost my money because I transferred my bitcoin into altcoin and unfortunately the prices of altcoin I bought dropped drastically

I just save it. Because bitcoin is not a job I'm living. But there is still another job I'm doing. So long as I still have another job. I will save the bitcoin I have. Besides that if we keep in a long time of course we hope can get more profit. I'm sure that's everyone's hope. But if you do not have another job. You should be able to arrange or divide it. Because you certainly have other needs. May be for basic needs or other needs. I just give you better advice you have another job
