Are you looking to mine and hold, or mine and exchange to BTC? Picking the best coin to mine is not an easy task and many factors go into the decision. A site like http://www.coinwarz.com/ (http://www.coinwarz.com/) can be a starting point to help you decide. I like some of the Auto-Exchange pools like https://miningpoolhub.com (https://miningpoolhub.com) or http://www.zpool.ca/ (http://www.zpool.ca/) An added advantage with http://www.zpool.ca/ (http://www.zpool.ca/) is that you can get paid out in any coin they mine, as long as it is active in the pool. For instance, you could send them SHA256 hash and get paid in a coin that is Scrypt.
