Title: Re: The guy who sustained permanent brain damage tells his story Post by: PabloW on June 11, 2011, 08:02:44 PM Shit, this aint funny at all. I have 3 GPUs very close to my bed, where my head is on. the heat is true, but I always leave my window open because of that, the keep the fans at a normal speed, I dont push them to 100%
But hell, I think im going to buy a dedicated miner to put in another place of the house sooner that I was. Title: Re: The guy who sustained permanent brain damage tells his story Post by: Basiley on June 11, 2011, 08:04:43 PM thats why im talk about creating miners union - to maintain working safety standarts, share knowledge, dealing with traders and etc.
and of course, organize evil/wild orgys to celebrate BTC marching around Globe :P Title: Re: The guy who sustained permanent brain damage tells his story Post by: bcpokey on June 11, 2011, 08:08:58 PM Moral of the story, don't run a space heater in the middle of a hot summer?
I just hope rare stories like this don't get picked up and reposted all over as some dire warning of the evil dangers of this wicked bitcoin thingy. Also I seriously thought this guy was trolling when I first saw the story on /g/. Hrmm. I'm by no means a medical expert, but my initial thought was they were doing it for hydration. But I guess along the same lines, people with hypothermia are given hot liquids too, to warm from the inside. I don't know, find it hard to believe myself, but I guess anythings possible. I woke up hot last night because I forgot to turn the thermostat down to 74F and it was 78F in the room. But I guess some people can/will sleep through anything!
