I'm starting to believe this. I had thought we'd be over 800 by now, but nope it didn't happen, each and every time we hit 790+, there was a massive barrier as if someone didn't want btc to go over 800. Probably a massive number of sellers (or a seller with a massive number of coins) cashing out at 790 before it craters like it has done in the past. I don't know if Chinese have what it takes to push the price over the top again.

I am hoping for a pop and fall to $600. We seem heated up with speculation. Let's break $800 in August or September when we have a valuation based more on utility.

price between 700 and 800 USD is a good place to go to halvening IMO, keeps miners income positive and wont make it too high.

Yes. I personally guaranteed to double the money of multiple Balkan warlords by 12 tonight. If I don't then the nanobombs coursing through my bloodstream turn me into something resembling a pizza dropped from the Empire State building. Looks like it's all over for me.

you should be satisfied, with the last increase, it went up 70-80%, what do you want, a indefinite increase? it's obvious that there will be a price correction at some point

thats just the beginning to be honest, the price has a lot of potential to grow still and is most probably going to start growing again any time soon in my opinion becuase people will buy

i think we will break a new all time high pretty soon to be honest thus allowing people and all the investors to make some good money in the near future, hopefully my predictions are correct

yes, kwukduck is a nearly perfect contrarian indicator, so I am really pleased he raised his voice now. I was seeing this rally running slowly out of steam, but this thread brings the new hope.

What about when it was 500 and bitcoin was going to crash, then 520, then 550 then 580 then 650 then 700? Wow you've guessed that it will drop about 30x in the past month and now you got it.

This is just a speed bump.   You can't rocket to 780 from 430 in a matter of less than a month and not expect that.  But whether bitcoin goes up or down, kwuckduck's line is the same.

Too bad prediction backfired, instead of breaking $800 it went down to $700 and now its $695. There are good reason behind this and some are saying it's Bitfinex because there was a reported downtime earlier and may have caused panic and make investors start selling and now it's down. Whatever it is i'm still hodling  ;D

I was indeed thinking the price would touch $800 somewhere this week as we were quite close to that level. Right now is a decent moment for people to start buying in the runup to the block halving. But it's ok. I have done very well securing profits around $700-$750. No one can take that away from me. :)

Yup. Buy when the price is dumped down heavily is when people should start buying like there is no tomorrow. But right now people that have no coins have 2 options. 1 ~ Wait till the block halving is over to buy. 2 ~ Buy right now at around $700 to make sure you have at least some coins. Less than a day ago the price was $60 higher than now. Maybe it will go up again, and maybe we'll start heading down even more.

My issue is CNBC does a big writeup on Bitcoin being a store of value and less than 12 hours later it tanks 10%

It is this kind of shit show that keeps crypto from being taken seriously by many people.

Nobody actually knows what will happen, yet everyone acts like they know...reading this thread is a perfect indicator as to why you should never believe the hype (or anyone's opinion)

I think this will happen. Any fast rise in bitcoin is followed by a correction movement that cause a fall

Some traders probably couldn't handle the price at these levels and decided to sell in order to secure their profits.

Or maybe it has something to do with the $18-$19 million valued coin auction today.

I personally think the price went down because of the first option I mentioned as that is more likely the case.

I'm with you on this. The sudden price is surge is not sustainable and not really healthy for the market. $800 will be reached in time, I'm hoping by end of the year, and slowly go for $1000 by mid to around third quarter of 2017. With the way the price has behaved the last month or so, we are due for a correction.

you should also see the positive side, it went 70% higher, and 10% down, in the end it went 60% higher

the final outcome is what matter, the real value is the stagnant one we will get soon after the consolidation and the p&d for accumulation, will end

It is possible for the Bitcoin price to reach $800 this or next month and before the halving start coming in. I want the price to reach $800 because I want to sell some coins just before the halving starts coming in.
I do not know what the price is going to be after the halving so I want to take my chances now.

Off course it is possible that we hit the 800 each and that is not very strange because we are allready up into the 700 so it may not take allong time that we hit the 800.

Off course we will hit the 800 at the end of 2016 for sure that is possible. There are to many peopel who think that he is going to drop after this but i dont think he will.

Don't fret guys. Braking $800 is reality - it will be even more apparent after the halving, breaking $1000 is a possibility and achieving new ATH later this year is not impossible.
Bitcoin was stable for a long time before only recently its price went higher, and you already want it to go double or tripe that amount? Have some patience.

We just need China to start pumping like they have done previously. I still think it's possible before reaching the block halving.

With the speculation pumps there is one problem. It is hard, if not impossible, to predict when they happen, or even, if it all happen.

Correct. At this point the price can go into any direction. That's why it's extra important to use the +$700 prices in your advantage to cash out some of your coins. Those who did sell at +$700 prices did the right thing.

Just cut the post halving slow growth bullshit. You get a big pump. Crashes. Then settles somewhere in between. Thats how bitcoin grows. The 1000+ action is within the next 3 weeks. Don't be dumb, mark my words.

$1000 could potentially be there, but I wouldn't make any guarantees. The halving will just show us where the miners are going to be able to settle in, and not throw Bitcoin up super high just because Bitcoin has become relatively more scarce. The miners still have their own bottom line and can manage to sell Bitcoin for less than everyone else if they price everything correctly.

Just a correction. BTC was obviously overbought. It will start climbing up from 650$ range again.

Perhaps this correction came at the right time to allow the price to climb a lot further around or just before the halving date.

We have seen a very steep price increase after leaving the 560-90 corridor. This was obviously greedy speculation. Now from a psychological point of view it is important to not fall below this level (high 5xxs) again. (This area is, as some TA experts said, also an important Fibonacci retreat level).

If this value can hold or BTC finds even a higher short-time floor, then I expect the 800 to be broken before the halving. It could go as high as the 950-990 area, but I think for 1000+ it's simply too early, as the positive (and even euphoric) sentiment in the cryptocurrency world has taken a hit because of the DAO incident.

it is only the matter of time to break $800 these going downs are just temporary and will end soon. there are a lot of newbies who will panic ans start selling their coins when they see a little dip or maybe some FUD or negative news about bitcoin and FUDsters like OP always capitalize on the situation to make more panic.

Want to see the face of people who sold their coins when bitcoin reached approximately $200 after seeing it break $750 this month  ;)
Falling to - $700 isn't that bad as i mentioned before, many is waiting for it to buy more coins  :)

Halving will happen in 2 weeks so after it price will fall a bit because people will sell, but then price will rise again so i am surr that we will go to 1000$

It is possible for Bitcoin to reach $800 this year but it is going to somewhat depend on what the price is going to be after the halving.
So we just have to wait and see what is going to happen and what the future will bring us.

We almost broke $800 about a week ago but just when it was going to hit the price dropped again which was a real let down because many people were going to sell.
Now we have to wait again for the price to go and I am not sure how long that is going to take.

It was unfortunate that bitcoin didn't cross the price of $800 at halving, but I think we should be satisfied with current price as $660 is not too bad price to hold.

Network is becoming stronger than before and i think more miners are involving in mining. Bitcoin network will keep on being more stronger... :D

It is actually good for the bitcoin price not to cross $800. If so, that will be a mini bubble, not good enough.

I am sure that with in the next rise that the price is going to reach $800, we almost reached it the last time it just before the $800 it dropped again.
So next time I am almost sure of it that we are going to reach it.

well price is still pretty large at this moment, 650$ is not bad, and we will have huge price rise soon as we had halving week ago so i think price will go to 1000$

I also am thinking that price of Bitcoin is at boiling points and any time soon they can explode to raise suddenly. I have eyes on the market and this recent movement in market is good sign. Just before halving till yesterday market was like constant. I will do agree there will one quick increase is due which can take place anytime in coming days.

Volume is getting lower while price is climbing slowly upwards. This is very bullish.

yeah i am expecting that too and planing to buy some bitcoins too before that to get ready for some boost up in my earnings ! and after halving the price seems to swing around 650 to 690$ and its to get 700$ + soon for sure i think !

looks like kwukduck is depressed and is sitting in a corner huging himself because all of his history is talking about bitcoin failiure and crash to $100-$200 and he has been saying it for years and now that price is rising consistantly that is a big hit in the face because i never see him make any posts these days :D

I think the bitcoin will rise to $800 or above in September or October. That will be after the SegWit release.
