Title: [Kraken] Trailing Stop & Trailing Stop Limit - Explanation needed
Post by: unic0der on June 20, 2016, 06:08:26 PM
Ladies & Gents,

I'd ask for your opinion if I correctly understand the "trailing stop" and "trailing stop limit" function at Kraken.

Two examples below and what I think they'll do:

1) "Trailing stop"

My assumption is that with this setting the trading engine will start selling my 5 BTC at market price (no matter how deep it might crash down), once price falls down by 10% from the highest peak (after I placed the order).

2) "Trailing stop limit"

My assumption is that with this setting the trading engine will start selling my 5 BTC at market price, once price falls down by 10% from the highest peak (after I placed the order).
BUT the trading engine would stop trying to sell, once the price crashes further below 15% from the highest peak (which is the "limit").

Is this understanding correct?
