Title: Well this has been a goddamn stressful 30 minutes
Post by: C0inB1te on June 21, 2016, 12:30:34 AM
I need to stop watching this chart. I want to hold. I'm going to hold. But shit if I keep watching the chart right now I'm gonna go gray.

What chart are you watching and what is it telling you?   I see we're now at 706, and yeah that's a pretty good correction.  But I'm holding.  Bitcoin has been thru worse than this.

Dip isn't in yet, we still have at least 20% to drop.

I love the way that the Stamp chart looks like a little dagger, being dangled off the edge of a very high cliff....will have to come up with a name for that.

'dip buyers' can be rest asssured. If price corrects heavily...and then just kind of hangs around not moving.....chance are there is more to go....lots more.

Why is everyone stressing, you bought the coins when they were $250 or $275 right?  this is still well above the starting price

Quite a few people will be margin trading. That adds a whole new world of hurt if there are sudden movements out of nowhere. They could be wiped out completely. They're the ones who set the prices, not the ones who bought a coin six months ago.

I have been buying coins over the years. Holding. I have bought low (89) and high (750). All over the spectrum. Mostly low. But I have no expenses, so whenever I get paid I try to buy more. So I am stressing over maybe losing $100. Not a huge deal really, but I mean who wants to lose $100?

Well even if Bitcoin goes down another $50, you have still doubled your money.

Maybe because many bitcoin holders are selling their coins and bitcoin price becomes lower and lower I hope it would not be woroe. But still I'm holding this coins I will not convert it. But I guess its only temporary lets wait again in 30mins  if this will continue to happen, well rhis will not help. And the current price is $682

No need to stress out as the market reacts quite normal. The entire market is filled with speculation around the block halving. It's good that a dump like this happened as it takes a lot selling pressure away from the market. If we can settle above $700 we're perfectly fine.

I'm glad Bitfinex decided to shut down their trading & let the market chill out a bit.

Lol i remembered doing this too when I was new in bitcoin. The price is never a good indicator to hold or sell.
The way i learned is to check historial points of bitcoin and look to date vs expectation.

Suppose the halving was coming up next week,
Short term: Hold
Long term: Hold

Short term traders option would to be selling your coins and buy back cheaper.

I guess the safe thing to do is try to reserve some and never let it out. And the rest would be free for you to play with.

That's correct. I do the same.
I have some bitcoins reserved for trading. Those coin's i won't sell till will get out of bitcoin. The other part of my bitcoin are meant for selling at the right moment.
This will probably be in a few years, because I don't see the price go to 1k anytime soon.

U do understand that markets don't just get to their final destination, by going direct, A-B?

That was a bounce.

There is more shit to come.

Wowsers, 50btc at near the 2 year high was a pretty risky.  Hope this turns around for you. I'm guessing we'll see 750 again though in the next 2 weeks.

Some people are selling off, so it puts back the price off obviosuly.

But we still got like 20 something days left or maybe even less and the halving hasnt started yet.

I would sell once it actually hits within the same week to see prices rebound before or after.
