Title: Regarding Mtgox' "Redeem Private Key"
Post by: Sword Smith on March 12, 2013, 09:32:17 AM
Hi

I have been playing around with Bitcoins lately and I was trying to use the option of redeeming a private key on Mtgox to add funds to my mtgox account. But I don't know in which format to enter the private key. bitaddress.org gives me the following different formats for a private key:

- Private Key WIF (51 characters base58, starts with a '5'):
- Private Key WIF (compressed, 52 characters base58, starts with a 'K' or 'L')
- Private Key Hexadecimal Format (64 characters [0-9A-F]):
- Private Key Base64 (44 characters):

Just to follow up on this, I entered a private address in the hexadecimal format and MtGox accepted that so I guess that they accept private keys in all four available formats plus Casascius' short key format. Can anybody confirm this?
