Well as you know I have Linux in my home and its top notch security cannot by any means be hacked easily especially when the user is very much aware of how to have a good security practice.

However I use Yobit also in my office and there I know my PC is infected, I have 2FA in my Yobit account and also 2FA on my gmail so nothing have happened to me, only I saw a message in my gmail, that Yobit password change request which had expired also.

Just wanted to share this, and to tell you all Windows is not good for keeping any account bitcoin related. If I had not 2FA on my gmail and Yobit now my coins there would have been gone. Be careful and do you own due diligence.

I suppose someone just managed to get your email from another Bitcoin related site and tried to recover your password.

Unsure about blaming Windows, but Linux limits the malware/virus possibility.

In this time every one of us must be careful because Bitcoin is gaining greater importance , even the hackers want to collect more Bitcoin , who know , maybe the price reach 1000$ , so you must have good anti-malware on your PC and your Mobile phone , because there are keylogger programs which register every button you click , including your passwords and E-mails and it sends it to the hackers .

This is not the entire fault of Windows.
Both operating systems have security measures (linux is stronger though)!
Also, this sounds more of a BOT attack or an attack for a known email address as your account wasn't technically logged onto.

I have exactly the same with Yobit get all the time emails about forgotten password change. Got 2fa security active and did scan the used computers here and didn't find anything. I personally think they are trying random names they found on a list or whatever way they get the usernames.

What I wanted to say is that I feel saved only because I setup 2FA of Yobit in my home PC running Linux, also the same with my Gmail account set up a mobile phone code anytime I access the email in other computers (only at home I don't need the code).

And I don't really care about opening my Yobit also on Windows at my office although knowing is infected (I found the PC infected, but can't format it as the supervision don't let me do so) because I have the 2FA code and the hacker maximum can do is what he already have tried to do.

Bottom line is I would advise anyone keeping 2FA on every bitcoin related site that gives you this opportunity, also take very good measures when setting it up, only set it up in a well known PC of yours in which you are sure it has no malware on it in the moment you setup 2FA.

Can you contact your office's network administrator to solve the problem?
If it is infected, you should try to suggest anti-spyware that they could use if they do not already.
It is useful to add 2FA in order to greatly increase your accounts security.

They have already installed ESET 9 smart security, Advanced System care, Malware bytes premium, and Zemana AntiKeylogger and they told me everything is OK with my PC after they did all the scans. But guess what it isn't from what I am seeing, yet they continue to tell me the office PC is clean meanwhile I insist is not clean at all.

Even one who knows your email used in yobit could send you reset email from anywhere of the world so accessing your office pc is not necessary for this, just ignore this i have also got similar reset email from cex.io few months ago.

There a lot of phising sites trying to scam and steal your account details with similar site design and email sender.
I received several scam attempts few weeks ago regarding Poloniex account I just ignore it.
But in op case, is it possible yobit itself pretending reset your mail and sweep your balance?

2FA is very safe , keep using it

I dont think would do that and i dont heard aome issue's regarding on balance sweeping in yobit, instead OP surely victimized by malwares or phising links thats why we should be more carefull there about our details in some malicious link scattered online, always secure our account and use 2fa by that we can make sure a little bit that our account is safe and sounds good.

You should use a better security and always check your computer on any suspicious things..

This is not really considered as a try to hack your account!

All what happened is that someone got your email from somewhere (without the password) and asked for a password recovery.

Even if you didn't have 2FA in this case,  your account wouldn't have been compromised.

This is some worry . Kindly keep the password and 2FA strong so that it could be hacked . Also be little cautious going forward.

it is not just about windows, although windows can be more risky when it comes to malware, keylogger, and things like that which can easily steal your passwords.

but also you have to learn how to secure yourself even on linux. for example using 2FA just like OP or having a strong password which you don't use anywhere else are two good ways of securing yourself.

Maybe he click some malware links thats why his account has almost stolen thata why we should be more careful for our accounts because high chance for us to get compromise if were lame enough and clicking some unknown links without do extra precaution,

And also if you are registering to some other site make sure your password is not the same with your wallet nor trading sites accounts because by that some other site owner make this to hack some balances to their victims.

Balance is intact and it is because the hacker couldn't do anything, 2FA setup in a safe PC made me safe against this attack, 2FA adds 99% substantial security to any account when its done right.
I have all of my bitcoins in my Yobit account nothing is touched inside yobit, hacker couldn't do anything thanks to both 2FA protection of Yobit and also 2FA protection of my gmail account via my mobile number.

are you sure did not put/set a 2FA plugin in your browser? such as authy plugin for chrome?
it is possible someone get the 2FA code via that third party 2FA.
make sure only set the 2FA to your mobile number and verify it by call not a message maybe.

well it's just like what happened to me on my poloniex and minergate account,someone trying to use forget password feature every damn single day
though he got my data from another site,maybe it's the same problem to you,however can't change the email so the only way is having multiple authentication

I also faced hacking attempt on my poloneix account , the hacker sent a message to my E-mail asking for verify some thing , the E-mail address was similar to poloneix address , so I clicked the link in the E-mail , then it took me to a site looks like poloneix , but I noticed that the site link isn't poloneix and closed the site , I don't know how he got my E-mail , however , now I am very careful , and I think twice before I register in any site and before I click any link .

You should setup and activate the 2FA of your yobit account , you need to have a strong security with that . And also it is necessary to change your password make sure that you are using a different combination just to make it complicated for those hackers . And avoid visiting some other sites maybe some of them are a phising sites .

it's not unusual when you use the email to register with certain sites, and perhaps no one knows your email or you ever share your e-mail into public so never share your e-mail to public is important to keep your account safe.

I also installed Minergate is there a possibility that Minergate got some hidden loggers. I am not sure but something caucus the hacking attempts.

Did you get the ip if the hacker is where he from.. before i think if you are login in yobit they are giving an ip that you are login too..
I also experience it too in the other company not in bitcoin in perfect money they are trying to hack my account but the real is i edited the password of gmail and its not the same as my perfect money password.. ..
I think those hackers are from a company website where we are registering and they are get the database and use it to hack accounts..

You are right about that otherwise they are gonna try all kind of things to hack you, they even make bots to try your password over and over till they are having the right one..

You should look if everything is okay with all your accounts, I would recommend you to change your email and password just in case.
It would be for now better to do with such messages.

You should read better what the OP has written, even if the hackers gets his password of his email they cannot do anything, as far as I am seeing here he already had setup 2FA before for both Yobit and his email account so I agree with OP hackers cannot do anything to him. The OP explicitly told us that he can open his email without 2FA only on his home PC which he claims is secure. I think he is safe so far but he can let us know further about his other accounts here.

You are absolutely right except the part I am not him but her but many persons here confuse me for a male and they don't believe much I am a girl, however what you are saying is totally right. All my other accounts are safe as they all have 2FA and I set up 2FA of a website I use only in my Linux machine at home. Locking this topic now as no more to say about this case I believe.
