Title: Lease the domain www.bitcoins.ca
Post by: superbit on March 12, 2013, 07:49:14 PM
I am the owner of the domain name www.bitcoins.ca and I am looking to lease this domain out.  I will start the bidding at 0.1 bitcoins per month on a one year lease.  The lease will end 3 days after the last bid, or I will accept a buy it now price of 0.5 bitcoins per month.

The winner of the lease will have the option to renew for a second year at double their winning bid, or 0.75 bitcoins per month if they take the buy it now option.  3rd year option will be 2.5x the winning bid, or 1 bitcoin per month if they take the buy it now option.

I am happy to provide any further information required.

Good Luck!

The best one I saw on this forum said he would release an open source exchange and then disappeared for months on end to only return when Bitcoins hit $47

You guys must not be from Canada.  We are stuck with an exchange that charges 3% for the first 100 bitcoins.  That's about $4500 @ 3%.  Plus Dowalla doesn't service Canada yet so we are stuck with shipping money off to Japan.
If there are any smoother ways to get on an exchange with lower commission from Canada I really would like to hear it.  Please.

That said, i'll buy it for $50 USD.

Sticking to leasing it as I believe it will increase in value.  As for it's worth bitcoins.biz just sold for over 2800 on Sedo and Sedo told me they would sell it for more.

Domain name is irrelevant to all that.

Canvirtex charges 1% for me and I don't use it a whole lot, is it really 3% for new accounts?

As far as I know, that's what the fees page says.  I also have an account with them, and I did email them about the fees.  Their response was quick and detailed and I was really impressed with their customer service.  I would prefer to make some trades there, but 3% in and 3% out is just too steep.
They'll get an active customer in me if they drop the fees a bit.

(Sorry to threadjack OP, but at least it's getting bumped)

You're right, they do start at 3%.

Less than 100   3.00%
Less than 300   2.50%
Less than 600   2.00%
Less than 1200   1.50%
Less than 2500   1.00%
Greater than 2500   0.50%

Their customer service, platform, and everything else are absolutely top notch. 3% is a chunk though, I can see why that would scare away traders at that level.

After an initial PM from Wrend I have not heard back.  I'll give it a few more or put it up for auction again.
